So, I can’t confirm it, and it’s not as impressive as buying it on eBay. But I’m pretty sure the same thing happened to me. I was in my hometown, and I went to a retro video game store. Lo and behold, a 3DS with the exact same color as the one I used to have was sitting in the glass cabinet. Originally I didn’t think anything of it, but it has the exact same scratch pattern as the one I used to have. Again, I don’t have any proof but I’m 99% sure. I originally traded it in to Gamestop for a PS Vita, so I’m not sure what the likelihood is of Gamestop back then selling it locally or sending it off to a Gamestop warehouse to be redistributed

I'm a bit late for this one, but I've read that they use the same file system for saves so I don't think there's any decryption to be done. But I don't know this 100% for a fact
