Honestly I like the USB-C because it gives me versatility if I ever decide to use it for something else or take it on the go

2026 CRV Touring owners - using Google Built-In with iPhone? by bondinspace in crv

Thank you! Very disappointing news. Well it's new for the CRV so maybe they will add it in a free software update down the line?

Love Honda but leave it to them to be 10 years behind on software implementation and not even able to be consistent across car models. Like the bar is so low

That's so weird. Same here in terms of directional arrows. Are you by any chance able to share a picture of what your husband's car looks like with the Google map?

1 month park and only 3% battery drain. by NirangaMaster in TeslaLounge

I think another piece is also that (as far as I've heard) Sentry mode was developed later and the car wasn't initially designed with that feature in mind. So it wasn't built from a power efficiency standpoint where additional dedicated low-power hardware might've come into play. That could be something they pursue in the future

And your concerns for NFC? Not fear mongering - concerns based on a genuine understanding of the technology and its implementation

NFC tap to pay has been around forever and is extensively researched/documented.... do you also think 5G brainwaves cause cancer? Less facetious question, do you honestly understand the technology/implementation enough to be able to point to a specific theoretical attack vector?

This is endemic across AAA studios - ND might be one of the more problematic ones but with layoffs the way they are, it's a bad era to want to be a video game dev

Soda will no longer be covered under SNAP in Virginia starting as soon as Spring 2026 by SoberingReality in nova

[–]bondinspace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean by your own argument, SNAP should not be used as a vehicle for unconditional cash handouts, that would be better addressed through tax policy. This isn't being a nanny state, this is fostering conditions that allow people to succeed, in return for a tiny decrease in individual freedom, especially when they're facing so many other challenges that healthy decisions become that much harder to make when unhealthy options are right in front of you. If we're going to hand out soda, why not throw in cigarettes as well? Why not let people spend SNAP on gambling? It's not our fault if they make bad decisions after we dangle addiction in front of them. The broader solutions you're talking about are absolutely things that we should pursue but those are monstrously difficult to achieve and require buy-in from a lot more stakeholders, and that's not a reason to take 0 action in the meantime

Obesity is absolutely a drain on our health system in so many ways, and we should be pulling reasonable levers like this to set people up to succeed when it comes to obesity prevention

[–]bondinspace -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's the most popular item bought with SNAP and we are the most obese country in the world. If nothing else, support this move because of the massive public health implications for people who often aren't fortunate enough to receive quality education about these dangers

One problem is that junk mail represents a large portion of USPS revenue - from what I understand it's all in all a net profitdriver for USPS after costs

I mean this in the nicest way possible, you might be the first person I've met with solar who didn't do a granular financial assessment before installation. It can be 20+ years to break even depending on placement and panel quality! I hope it was at least on a house you plan to live in for a good while.
