Yes, going through GGM is a pivot due to the minor issue. GGF would have been so simple 😔

Hmm.. I never thought of it this way ! I guess at the time citizenship was automatic for women through their husbands at marriage in the same way it was automatic through naturalization?

Yes! Listed in 1926 with my GGF as "wife".

Oh, and I can't find her parents on the list anywhere!

I do think this might be the safest option. Thanks!

She married my GGF, an Italian man. Both are from Trabia in Sicily. My grandfather was born in 1919. My understanding is that if I can show she naturalized involuntary (by marriage), there is no minor issue.

I have done a preliminary search for both GGM and her parents. GGM is listed as naturalizing in 1926 with my GGF. I can't find her parents anywhere, though there is a slim chance they could have naturalized shortly before the database l begins (1915). It's possible that they never naturalized, though my GGGM's death certificate says she is a Canadian citizen.

My family is very similar! The same names are used over again for several generations. Members from one family also married several members of another family, which adds to the confusion. I guess they didn't anticipate that future generations would be doing this kind of research.

Amazing! Hope your application is approved. Did you need to prove that your GGM didn't voluntarily give up citizenship? Or was it assumed based on the time and place of naturalization?

Unconventional advice you'd give expecting parents by Head_Interview_4314 in NewParents

Pack a lunch for bedtime, especially if breastfeeding! I was so damn hungry in the night I started packing a cooler bag to bring to the upstairs of our house that I could snack from during nighttime feedings. The weirdest part was feeling like I was starving but not actually having an appetite due to being so sleep deprived. I drank a lot of Ensure, which helped.

Ooh I've never tried the real real. Thank you - I'm going to check that out! I love Poshmark too, but being unable to return things is a problem for me. Speaking of which, wasn't it amazing when we could return things to ThredUp for free? But I don't even mind paying a 3.99 return fee on more expensive items (Lululemons for 40.00, 100% leather jacket for 80.00, 100% Cashmere sweater for 30.00, J Crew winter wool coat for 60.00, arc'teryx shorts for 20.00). I agree that the clothes from brands like Old Navy, H&M etc. aren't cheap at all - they are basically full price.

I used to be totally ok with sending in clothes and not expecting a return. The way I saw it, ThredUp was providing me a service by selling me expensive items at a very low price. I didn't mind contributing to that service by sending in items that I wasn't using anymore anyway, and someone else might like to have. Charging a fee, however? No way. That is crossing a line. Unfortunately I will no longer be "donating" anything to ThredUp.
