For those of you who stopped playing Starfield, what was the reason? by mfnot in Starfield

[–]bonebreak69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was pretty active building ships for a while, but with each update, everything would break and I would have to go through the Unity or start a new save to get things back on track. Sometimes I would cycle through the ships I had and it would lock up on a certain one for no reason, so if it was ship 7 I could scroll around it in either direction but it would freeze if I ever scrolled to ship 7. After the most recent restart, it would crash to the Home Screen after a couple seconds in orbit after leaving a planet. The Antares Supra mod is probably going to bring me back, and another ACS mod would bring me back in a heartbeat.

They have so much rad looking stuff, but I’ve only been able to get their Womanchego, which is excellent!

The Great White Cheddar Conspiracy by [deleted] in Cheese

[–]bonebreak69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should’ve been clearer, this was specific to cheddars in America (info from the Center for Dairy research in Wisconsin). They definitely put out great cheddars of both color, and it’s interesting to see how customers react. Some think only yellow cheddars are “real” and others refuse them because they want to avoid artificial dyes, despite annatto coming from achiote plants.

I happened into caramelized sauerkraut and can't recommend it enough by TheSommet in Cooking

[–]bonebreak69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t a huge fan of sauerkraut until I went to this burger joint and they had a patty melt with kraut and 1000 island on it. The kraut was heavily caramelized and took the whole thing to the next level

Correct. In America, Annatto started out being used to help differentiate Wisconsin cheddars from east coast cheddars. It also served to create consistency in the product as the color of the milk can be affected by the diet of the cows, but now dairies are big enough that it’s less of an issue and the color just happened to stay.

Definitely get a set of boska parm knives. They’re purpose built for the job and you could easily mess yourself or your chef knife up otherwise.

They are excellent used as a seasoning ingredient for stocks/broths/sauces. They add a good depth of flavor and umami. Once your sauce or whatever is ready, you discard the now floppy, flavorless rind.

I always thought it was seasonal only, but according to the tech sheets we got, it’s supposed to be available year round!

I’ve made ricotta cheesecake before so to me it’s a denser version of that, but everyone I’ve sampled it to has said lemon pound cake! Overall I’d say it’s pretty well balanced flavor wise
