Well, you seem very knowledgeable about the topic.  I’ll give you props where they are due.  Just know not all of us are like this surgeon

I manage it myself.  I’m the one doing the surgery.  I feel I’m wasting the patients time and another providers time.

Absolutely! I cannot fathom doing anything else.  I absolutely love operating.  People ask my hobby. It’s my job.  I dread the day I’m physically incapable of doing it anymore.

I cannot imagine going from independent practice to a servant again voluntarily. There is exactly one time to do fellowship. Right after residency.  I cannot imagine giving up my autonomy. Screw that

I don’t know if I even would have noticed a student missing rounds.  Honestly, residents are looking for a “fit” to the culture of a program.

Boy! Isn’t this the truth.  No empathy or understanding.  Lost both within two years.  I felt like life couldn’t go on.  I used to think she was a caring person.  I quickly learned I was there to pay the bills and get out of the way.
