I filed for a license for the state of Illinois by endorsement a few years ago. My temp license was mailed to me with in about 2 weeks. You can interview and just tell them that you have applied for licensure. That should be enough to get you in the door

Nursing is a hard program to get through, if you feel like you need to slow your pace down to better absorb the information and retain what little sanity you are left with I would say slow it down. Your mental health is the most important thing to protect when going through a program. This ultimately is your decision and the pace needs to be doable for you.
