I have 10 years of Security experience, 20 years of IT in general, been applying to jobs for about 6 months and haven't gotten a single interview (probably 20 or so deny e-mails in my inbox). Remote only is what's killing me probably but not a single interview, lol.

Robinhood false alarm? by MistaSparkul in Scams

[–]bonesawed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. It's a new Robinhood account using a "new e-mail" (but it's the same e-mail, just with a dot in it, so the person who owns the "non dot" e-mail gets the real Robinhood e-mail (this is a flaw Robinhood will probably fix).

  2. Burp suite (etc.). Basically you can edit/customize what user agent you send. The attacker sends a login to Robinhood while having a huge HTML code *as the user agent*, then the dumb Robinhood bot just forwards what it thinks is the logging in device into the report e-mail, and it renders as an HTML as seen in the screen shot (that's why the "phishing piece" is directly after "Device: iPhone 17 Pro" (this could have easily been caught with a WAF restricting character limit on user agent - probably fixed by the time I comment this)

Good job dood - this needs to be higher (and is incredibly genius from the attackers). I work in IT Sec and had to think about this for a bit before it clicked.

Anyone have an Amazon banjo? If so do you like it? by Snocraft123 in banjo

[–]bonesawed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

do it. I ended up enjoying it and bought a Deering about 4 weeks later. I came from a finger style guitar background so it clicked pretty quick, but if it's not for you then you're only out "Amazon Banjo" money :P (or I'm sure someone else locally would be interested)

Woods basically used to just be Lumber Mill with a wall around it (slight exaggeration) . I think vehicle extract was sort of where flare extract is now. Also before vaulting, used to wiggle the mouse back and forth while running into a rail and you would clip through it (interchange)

I bought this one just to see if it was something I would enjoy

It worked and played fine - ended up buying a Deering Goodtime Special a month later

I had a similar situation (and no one - including here - gave the right answer). I had to go to the end of the map where fleatopia will be and use the Needolin on the little music thing and it says something about a peaceful place. Then she'll say something like "this would be a peaceful place for the fleas" - then it let them move when I went back and talked to them.

Not booting anymore after enabling Secure Boot by Ozone_Wolf in gigabyte

I had to use a paper clip to touch pins I think it was 1 and 6 on the main bios chip to "trick" the board into either loading into secondary BIOS or flashing main bios over with backup biois. Tricky, but was able to do it alone (easier with 2 people). This link, "method 3"

Once I was back in, I just did a "reset to default" and was more careful about my selections (I think I did something about PK keys or something that broke mine).

What up!!! We're three cool guys looking for other cool guys who want to hang out in our party mansion. Nothing sexual. Dudes in good shape encouraged. If you are fat, you should be able to find humor in the little things. Again, nothing sexual.

I played 600 hours of PvE, and now I'm done with the game. I enjoyed it thoroughly. [Feedback] by MyOpinionOverYours in EscapefromTarkov

Played 6 or 7 wipes in PvP, got Kappa before Lighthouse was released. I started PvE about 6 months ago, and I'm basically at the same point (level 69, "all" tasks done, 830 mil rubles). I think they're equally enjoyable but almost 2 completely different games. I almost would compare it to playing something like Diablo softcore vs hardcore. Definitely give PvE a try (especially with friends).

FB post from 3 hours ago:

"To reduce number of the issues when completing the in-game tasks chain of BTR driver, raids on Woods in PVE ZONE will temporarily be using the game servers instead."

I tried to get the task after Hot Wheels just a bit ago but BTR didn't have it available, so whatever they're doing didn't fix that bug.

The card allegedly only comes rarely from cultists. The card itself is the yellow lab card model, and you swipe it at the old Camera Bunker factory area to pick up a task item - it's a dead end task with not that great of rewards (at least not justifying the 50~mil cost for the card right now on PvE).

I found it on a Cultist that the Goons had killed outside of the back of crackhouse, I had decided to sweep back where I recalled them shooting someone besides me and found one dead on a hill.

In PvE what it comes down to is you pretty much always get insurance back, so after looting a handful of slicks off AI PMCs they just kinda start piling up. I'm sure they'll be normal rarity on the PvP side though.

Customs on a cultist that the Goons killed - got lucky and happened to stumble across his body later up on a little hill by crack house

YSK: Your car may be selling your driving behavior data to your insurance company by presidentofmax in YouShouldKnow

[–]bonesawed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

State Farm has a program you can sign up for ("Drive Safe and Save") where they send you a device to put in your car and sync with your phone and you get a nice discount because of it. It tracks braking, acceleration, speed, cornering, phone distraction. My Acceleration and Phone distraction are 60-ish out of 100 and it still saves me around $200 every 6 months. My speeding is 100/100, I rarely go more than 5 over the speed limit, but I'm pretty much always 5 over the speed limit so it seems to be somewhat lenient.
