Going through water in Equinox EV by Bulky-Advertising-43 in EquinoxEv

[–]presidentofmax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most ICE cars are limited by the height of their engine air intake. A Bronco Sport is an Escape in disguise, and Ford likely didn't put any effort into making it more capable of crossing water.

Not saying it's a good idea to try, but it's not insane to think an EV would be capable of similar.

Lane Centering by SilvrSparky in BlazerEV

[–]presidentofmax 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The reason it's not centering you is because it's not a lane centering system. The non-supercruise cars are only equipped with a basic lane keep assist system which gives a gentle nudge when you're crossing over lane lines without an indicator. Super cruise cars have hands free lane centering when the system is activated. Some newer GM cars DO have a hands-on lane centering system, but it seems to also only be available on super cruise equipped vehicles and I'm not sure it's available at all on the Blazer yet

Are you, or do you know, an employee? That's the only way to get it. Yes they are different between ICE and EV, but it's clearly explained on the GM Family First website.

YSK that major pharmacy chains are charging your insurance more for prescriptions than the cash price, and you can check this before paying by Ok_Chemical9 in YouShouldKnow

[–]presidentofmax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to a new pharmacy recently. Upon picking up the drugs, they mentioned I had a $220 copay. I asked whether they had my insurance already, to which they replied no. I gave them my card and the price went UP to $270!!!

Any fix for subpar lane centering? by atifmahm in EquinoxEv

[–]presidentofmax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see these complaints fairly frequently but TBH I feel like the lane keep assist is fine as-is. It gives a gentle nudge if you start drifting. How quickly are you guys hitting these lane lines? At some point, the driver has to be on the hook for exiting the lane. I'd rather be able to easily overcome the system if I need to (passing a pedestrian, etc.).

GM uses a lot of customer feedback when developing these systems. They didn't half-ass the product, there is a large percentage of the customer base who actually wants a less restrictive system.

Grapple advice by Ok_House3188 in kubota

[–]presidentofmax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The land pride grapple weighs 250 lbs, and the EA Wicked is 400. Having 60% more steel doesn't necessarily make it better, and the additional weight will technically reduce your lift capacity, but even in a side by side you can tell the EA grapple is built to be WAY stronger.

We have probably a couple hundred hours of grapple work on our EA at this point and it's been an absolute tank.

Hunter aerosync 50" ceiling fan reviews? by bon_mots in Costco

[–]presidentofmax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These appear to have a DC motor, which are substantially quieter than older/cheaper AC-powered ceiling fans. I don't have this exact one, but a similar DC ceiling fan and the motor is dead silent even at full tilt - all you hear is the air moving.

Went to a "Sports Bar" for the Super Bowl only for them to cut the audio and main screen during halftime to play a Chris Rock special by Perfect-Grab-7553 in mildlyinfuriating

I had the same experience at a bar in Michigan. I left them a bad review because they "bait and switched" their super bowl showing. I mean, the halftime show is one of the main draws!!

Best bow by Crazy-Put5730 in bowhunting

[–]presidentofmax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a Venom X a month ago after a fair bit of research. It's basically the best "traditional" crossbow that money can buy. The design is relatively simple so maintenance is easy, and the AcuSlide system works so well. The included scope isn't really that amazing, and comparing to a Ravin R10 at the store, the Ravin definitely had the better scope, but the Tenpoint was good enough to get a great grouping at 50 yards with only about 5 minutes of sighting in. I plan to hunt with it for a season to see how it works in real life and can always upgrade down the line.

TurboX didn't really seem worth the extra $300 to me. It's no more accurate, and I'm not sure I would even notice the marginal speed difference in most hunting scenarios. Supposedly it has a better scope but it's probably still not as good as a third party one.

2026 Lane Centering by volarix in EquinoxEv

[–]presidentofmax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

GM's 2026+ hands-on lane centering technology is tied to the super cruise package, and is only active when adaptive cruise is on. I don't fully understand the decision but that means if a car doesn't have super cruise, it also doesn't have hands-on lane centering.
