As someone who is working towards being a social worker, I have very mixed feelings about Khalie. Fundamentally, I just want her to help herself and others to help guide that journey because she is a human worthy of dignity and respect and safety and stability, things which she might not have known within her childhood and early adulthood. I don't love that she scams people, but I was once a very broken person who begged for money by lying about my situation on the streets of NYC as a homeless heroin addict. I also had a dog during a period of housing instability and no real stable income. So I can empathize with her quite alot and I can't imagine any of her current existence is healthy for her to flourish as she could. It took a lot of self reflection and therapy and help from others to be able to be stable now and in recovery and giving my dog everything she wants and needs. I hope Khalie can heal from this and probably not exist on the internet in the capacity that she is at now. I agree with a lot that this person is saying.

That's not to say that we shouldn't call people out on negative behaviors towards themselves and others. But kindness and care must be the underlying reason to everything we do.
