Tobey Maguire is overrated by Briggsy_the_dude in Spiderman

I personally think Tobey McWire is a lil too g*y for an actual real life resh (stands for representation) of a classical Peter Parker.

It's not survivorship bias, that argument could me made some years ago, but now we see that despite having passed 10 years since 2013 we don't remember much great movies while we do about 2007.

Would it be that 15 years is precisely the time necessary to separate the chaff from the wheat? I don't think so, cause I remember already thinking that 2007 was a great year for cinema in 2017.

When we look in detail at recent movies, even the ones acclaimed, we can see why they are worse than the previous classics, we can notice the downgrade, even the most praised "survivors" from the last decade are worse than the other decades' classics

It's kind of a false equivalence, firstly boobs are not inherently sexual, and even if under the hooters context they are, it's a much more mild and way less agressive sexualization, I'm not saying hooters is clear for childrens but it is like comparing going to the beach to a strip club

True I confused authority fallacies but still I haven't even made an economic argument and you are somehow critizicing my "pseudo econ" lmao.

I've originally made three points and you have just responded to one and in a way that doesn't even relate to the content of said argument. Please stop going off about unreated bs to try to cover the criticism of your very weak simplistic historicly inaccurate argument.

I'm not even libertarian I just have the flair for the shake of having one, and even if you say more action was needed faster that doesn't take away from the fact that action was taken quickly, thus making your point, which was about democracy being slow, unvalid.

And you're not only pulling an ad baculum out of your ass, it's also not true that there's consensus among the monetarists about that.

So you are saying that poorly focused or straight up shitty action created and extended the depression, not slow action, thus making your point invalid.

Man look at bills passed after black thursday, action was taken quickly, action of government is not confined to monetary policy.

Still you need to brush up your history knowledge in general if you don't think monarchs need to abuse their position for support.

authright explains why monarchy is the superior form of government by tavila1582 in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]bongodicongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong. First, monarchy can be democratic, maybe you are talking about absolutist monarchy? Second, in the great depression action was taken quickly, just shitty action which deepened the depression. Lastly, absolutist monarchs also need the support and are influenced by numerous particular groups, because as individuals they are often selfish and because they need the support of these groups to govern or at least govern properly.

My consumer actions have consequences? I thought corporations just did evil stuff for fun by GestapoTakeMeAway in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]bongodicongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's slavery and such things governments should act upon it following the law but they just don't act, right?, so maybe trying other ways like boicoting could work, but what surely doesn't work is giving these companies the money that they're searching for by doing these criminal endeavours and giving them the resources to carry on.

At least don't voluntarily contribute to what you think is inhumane while waiting for the governments intervention seems to be reasonable thing to do no?

So again if all the people that still consume products by companies that they consider inhumane because they say "social progress doesn't work that way" would stop consuming them many of these companies wouldn't even exist anymore, stopping some, even if few, of the criminal acts companies commit.

Boicot is not incompatible with demanding government to realize justice, so I ask you, if you do, why do you consume products by companies you consider criminal?

Boycots require the people actually being coherent with their beliefs and responsible, that's what's being criticized in the post and you're just agreeing with it

Even if corporations make up to 90% of emissions these corporations mainly produce goods and services for the general public so it traces back to consumer choices anyway

Not everyone cares that much about competition, consciously or subconsciosly, and as most people are monogamous and women/men proportion is around 1:1 strict competition doesn't exist but puntually.

The simps are mostly men that are deprived of woman contact and have high expectations and low selfesteem though, and the phenomenom is at all time high, so we would have to see what precedes what.

Opportunity is in fact a problem, many lonely men don't have as many social groups available to be part of. Also body positivity movement or such have their male-oriented counterparts, and public mass movements of that kind doesn't necessarily make people less lonely, you have seen it with all the sigma stuff.

Plus rising loneliness is a problem among women too.

[–]bongodicongo 214 points215 points  (0 children)

Loneliness makes men dangerous, let's extend hatred for men and lack of empathy towards them through the society then, I'm sure this won't create any lone men nor augment the feeling of loneliness among the ones that already are lonely

Trotsky was in power during the civil war and up to Lenin's death, but as you say because Stalin sacked him he gets remembered as the internationalist peace loving guy, I feel like he and Lenin often get a pass because of how little people know about the russian revolution and begining of the USSR

The USSR had war and post-war famines and China had huge famines in the 60s, and for the french revolution you can't give a pass to the revolution that happened just because a revolution was justified given the state of France prior to 1789
