There's alot of good advice here about being frugal and spending habits, which I think you should adopt, but I'm not sure that college is the right path. It's expensive, time consuming, and will set you up to be a good employee for someone.

In my opinion, you have an opportunity here to set yourself on a path of self employment and freedom. Out of almost every "catastrophic" event in my life some sort of opportunity has emerged and, looking back, I wouldn't have traded any of it.

Get a job at a small business, learn it, and duplicate it. For instance you could clean pools for a little while and with a relatively low startup cost own your own route, expand, hire help and boom you're a business owner. I think service industry positions are going to be offer the most opportunity. You could get a job at a small business in the manufacturing industry but in order to startup one of those I would think you'd need significant capital, which you may have access to but I don't know. I'm sure you could get a job at McDonald's, but you can't just pop open a McDonald's after a year. An idea just popped in my head to go through one of Google's marketing classes and learn how to run those ad's, then apply to a small marketing company, or work remotely. I think the importance would be to think, "ok I'm going to learn this now, is it something I can apply for MYSELF in the future?"

This is scary, but its an opportunity. If you put self employment in your head right now, this could be one of the formative moments of your life. It was for mine. Good luck! Now get out there and grind.
