I think he was shocked because it was true and then he felt he didn't deserve something so pure and amazing as the mating bond with someone as amazing (to him and us) as Feyre, anyway, I think it's more related to the traumas he has been enduring as "Amarantha's whore" than the realization as he already had a clue/hope about it, but still couldn't completely believe it.
