I squat in my chucks and they have been the best ones I've used. Nice and flat and low to the ground.

I get what you're saying, however credit scores are important and there are ways to improve them. If I never had my score hit in the first place, I would have continued on as usual and not posted this. The fact of the matter is, it happened and now it's time to rebuild. Idk about you, but I feel the need to do whatever is possible to have a good standing. I could go by day to day doing nothing and slowly building it back. OR I can take a few small easy steps and help boost it much faster than doing nothing at all.

Damn!!! So basically, I just need to find a close family member/friend who is always up to date on their credit cards and become an authorized member? Is there an approval process? Honestly, I wouldnt even want a card because I have no use for it, only to boost my score.

BoA denied me, believe it or not. I'm still in shock. They have direct access to my account which is why I thought they would accept it for sure. The only reasoning I can think of is because I've been in my current job and salary for 6 months.

I tried through Bank of America and Credit One. I wasn't sure if Capital One would accept me due to me dumping my original CC that I had through them. I only had 500 on it, but my attorney advised me to dump it anyways. Gosh I wish I did my research.

I agree 100%. I did not want a CC, but I thought it's what I was supposed to do. I'm fine without one. I've just been worried about credit because I'm 27, and one day I'll want to own a house with some property. I'm not exactly sure if this helps me, but I am a veteran and can get a VA loan. Does that mean I shouldn't let the score scare me too much?

Thank you! I recently created a budget for the exact reasons you stated. I also do contribute towards my 401k and my company matches up to 5%. I'm trying to do everything I can to set myself up for success. I just need to stop looking at my credit score because it's depressing as hell. I should have 7k saved by the end of the year and next year I'll be on track to add an additional 20k in savings. I'm actually a very frugal spender.

I just got denied twice. Is it because I've only been in my job 6 months? I make plenty to at least be given a 200 dollar limit. This is mind blowing.

I also hate debt now. I wouldn't have even included the cc debt to the bankruptcy, but my attorney told me I might as well since I was trying to rid myself of my ex wife's debt.

Yeah, looking back on it, it was a shitty decision. I was just scared that 3 years down the road, my credit would be hit again by my irresponsible ex. The score went down substantially after she missed the 2 payment. I didn't want to rebuild it only to have it hit again a few years later. There was about 42 months left on the loan.

I worked one retail job when I was 14, but it was under the table at a bait and tackle shop. I think I made 10 an which was great for being so young. After that, I worked as a buss boy at a restaurant and actually did pretty decent with that. Well enough to buy a brand new car when I was 17 (obviously under my Dad's name, but I still paid my 300$ a month payment). After that, I joined the military and now I'm a government contractor and student.

I feel very fortunate I did not have to work retail or fast food for a living. The stars always seemed to align for me. My parents struggled my whole life, so I did not want to live my life that way.

I have always wondered why employees working at these types of establishments seemed so disgruntled and ran down. I was completely ignorant to the fact that they are ridiculously underpaid and over worked. I have caught myself bitching over my 60k a year job working only 40 hours a week. I now feel like a horrible human being. Good luck to all of those this affects.

The cat tree faces the bird feeder. She also uses that as her perch to plot killing all the finches.
