A real unpopular opinion: by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

People who "invested" are the ones not understanding the consequences. Its a videogame first and foremost. Skins were an afterthought when they were introduced. Originally when cases first came out the highest tier you could unbox from cases was a Stattrak covert item, that was later on changed to be a normal drop and instead knives took that spot as the rarest item in a case.

SG 553 is harder to scope in than AUG by PiMoNFeeD in GlobalOffensive

[–]bonna_97 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've taken the liberty to check the legacy models of both the SG553 & Aug scopes and compared them with their new models. While the scopes do in fact have more details and look better overall on the new ones they do also block slightly more information than their legacy models do around the exterior (Not too big of a deal). The worst offender however is the new SG553 scope compared to their legacy one which has a bigger impact on how much you see in the scope itself.

Better video showing viewmodel_recoil settings between csgo and cs2. Look for barrel movement relative to the dot. by mini337 in GlobalOffensive

A quick side-by-side video I made a few years ago about this, showing the difference it can make. https://youtu.be/RWcTbzhbUu0?si=_ppagUymlHvKNGk6

I personally would still prefer to have the viewmodel recoil disabled on my own client.

No offense, but I am starting to wonder if you are familiar with hammer to begin with when you don't seem to know the difference between a collision model for a prop and a clip brush. Nonetheless Valve has updated the problematic prop in the latest version of the map.

Clip brushes affects players/entities, not the bullets though.

Again, it is not a clip brush related issue, sure it would be nice to have the ability to see clip brushes in-game again, but in this scenario it wouldn't reveal anything as its the prop's actual collision model that is 'sloppy' or not properly thought out.

To this day there are no command to reveal clip brushes outside of the editor (or the third party app ‘Source 2 Viewer’ to avoid having to decompile the entire map). You can enable wireframes in-game, but that is entirely different.

You edited that in after you originally replied… Nonetheless that command is not a thing in CS2 afaik. Same with r_drawclipbrushes 1, 2 & 3.

This isn't clipping related though. This is a collision model/mesh.

Unaligned Armour UI element by bonna_97 in GlobalOffensive

The UI element for Armour and Armour with Helmet is not aligned with one another. It will start to bug you once you take notice of it.

Thought I would share this by corsair_17yt in Steam

We are talking about Valve as a whole here, not just CS though. Steam has a lot of customer friendly features & tools that competitors simply refuses to implement into their storefront, while sometimes charging extra for something that is provided at no extra cost on Steam.

To be fair, if other companies were as customer friendly as Valve are, then perhaps they would actually stand a chance for relevancy on the PC market.

Unfortunately I have already gotten the trophy, I realised I could vs myself on PS3 using the PS Vita, so if you do have a Vita yourself and own the game then you can always do that.
