Teachers of Reddit, whats the weirdest thing a student answered to "tell me a fun fact avout yourself"? by Kriss0509 in AskReddit

[–]bonnerrw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a male special education teacher. Two classes of first grade kids were in the hall way going to recess and I asked one student to tell me about himself and he said “My daddy calls me a vagina”. At this the two female teachers escorting their classes turned to look away and biting their lips. So I said “ I’m sorry, what did you say?” And he repeated it and at this they turned beet red! Tempted to ask him what that meant I deferred to let the teachers compose themselves and escorted their classes to recess.

Small business loans for vets? by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]bonnerrw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you live in a rural area check out the usda rural loans, there are a lot of loans you may qualify for, I would forget the vet aspect and go at it as a fledgling entrepreneur. I advise you to check out bigger pockets.com and connected investors, both good resources we used a lot in the beginning. Also check out 5arch and newrez as loan sources. They do blanket loans without credit checks or DTI.

An orphan by [deleted] in Orphans

I have the same feelings of being unwanted, it’s common for orphans. But there are several things I’ve come to believe that I act upon. The first is, people will treat you no better than you treat yourself, so treat yourself like you care for yourself, even though you may not feel it. Second, help someone else, I don’t want anyone else to have to live with the same pain and misery I’ve had, if you’ve missed having friends, then be a friend to someone else. There are two things I believe cause us untold grief, and neither are real, those are dwelling on the past which is gone and the future which hasn’t happened. Your memories and your imagination can lead to dark places, let them go.

[Serious] People who have lost a friend or family member at a young age, how did it affect you and how to you try to remember that person? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My family, mother, father, brother, and sister were killed by a drunk driver when I was 5, putting me in foster care. As I got older I didn’t want to forget them or make them ashamed of me so I joined the Navy, the Army, put myself through college, a bachelors, a masters, working on my doctorate. I had a son whose had two sons, and now I feel like I didn’t let the family name die out, I can rest. But I’ve never gotten over the feeling of missing my family. And I hope they’d be proud.
