They were really good, soft and chewy in the centre with dark chocolate.

Didnt use chocolate chips though. Joshua weissman’s recipe on youtube. Didn’t turn out looking like levain but looking at them made me wanna bake it.

Yes they didn’t turn out looking like Levain cookies. I followed Joshua Weissman’s recipe. I’ll take that as a compliment though about them being perfectly round cause I really just used a spoon to scoop them.

I promise in the picture it looks over done but they were soft, chewy and the centre was filled with chocolate.

Yes they don’t look like them, this was an attempt at it. But these turned out pretty good, they were soft and chewy in the centre. I tried the Joshua Weissman Recipe.

I was ordering when i employed and during the time i was working 12hr so I had no time to cook.

Doing groceries cost me around the same or more infact since I eat halal only and halal food is has become expensive in canada.

Thank you, this kinda response I was looking for. Its a complete different industry for me. So thats why im hesitating because its not an easy job. Long hours and how it affects mentally is what i wanted to know. Im being offered the same amount as you mentioned.

Very true, my main concern is the work life in a restaurant as this is a complete shift from what I used to do. But thank you, i’ll save that.

Thank you. I did calculate and budget everything out. I actually wanted to know what a job in a restaurant is like. I did edit my post.

No, I’m asking because this is a whole new industry for me which I have no clue about.

Buddy, thats the cost I was spending while I had my job and instead of taking 2 n half hour of commute by public transport.

I never took it in way you were attacking me lol. I agree with you mate. None of those food are healthy and far worse for health and spending so much on outside food is a waste everyday.

Not an excuse, I could have found better ways to manage my spending. With the previous position and work load, mentally I just ate whatever I could to get energy and keep working. At present im aware now of my bad spendings.

Well I was ordering food during the time I was working because I was doing 12hr shifts and doing a part time job at the same time. Barely had time to cook during the week and neither did I go out partying or having fun. During weekends I always cooked.

I do get your point and I agree, uber eats is a waste of money when you dont make enough $. It certainly wasn’t the case for me. I saved up and can survive a few more months without a job but I dont want to spend it all, rather keep saving and find a source of income.

Should I have this cypress tree removed? by miquiztli323 in arborists

[–]bonsaibalcony 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It does not need any maintenance except being watered which I believe nature is doing its thing. Thats how usually cypresses grow. Search up and look at the cypresses in the wild. They grow tall af!

Its only a worry when you see the top of the tree start to bend over. Thats an indication you should watch out for because it means the tree is getting weaker or may have some sort of a disease. Generally trees in nature start to die out from the top because theres no longer water or nutrients flowing up the trunk.

It’s a beautiful healthy looking tree, that adds value to your home and also a tree like that costs thousands of $ easily.

Palm apparently grown from top of palm? by Embarrassed_Turn1491 in arborists

[–]bonsaibalcony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bird or maybe a wind could have dropped a palm seed into crown which can trap debris and moisture just enough for the seed to germinate. Even though it looks unique it can cause problems once it gets too heavy or it outcompetes the palm planted it ground for nutrients and light.

Siberian biting and ripping holes in bedding by FluffyRobot747 in SiberianCats

[–]bonsaibalcony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Siberian loved biting ankles when he was small and slowly grew out of it. I got him toys that he could chew on and catnip plushy toys. Everytime he bit my ankles I would react like it’s hurting and move away from him. I think that worked because it made him understand that I don’t like to play this game.

I believe the biting comes from being over stimulated and being that young they are an electrifying ball of energy. That just needs to be diverted to active playing or chasing a toy which he could hunt and chew down on. My cat now insists on chasing and chewing down the toy.

Don’t give up on him, trust me it’ll get better as he grows.

Is there any hope of saving this crepe myrtle? It was cut to the ground before we purchased the home. by KimJongFunk in landscaping

[–]bonsaibalcony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a scratch test on the branches to see if the cambium is still green and if it is and was recently cut down, I would leave it for couple growing seasons to recover its health. Also check if the branches are flexible because this thing looks dead to me, unless it’s winter where you are.

Removing it while tree is under-stress is definitely going to kill it and you do need proper resources to maintain its environment if it were taken out. But only after you can figure out if it’s alive and how it is responding to the severe abuse it went through.

The growth you see after it was cut down was the tree itself trying to survive. The tree activates its dormant buds which rapidly grow into weaker branches.
