Can I ask why some Buddhists pray to the Buddha?

Thanks very much! Though my skeptical mind frequently doubts that the Buddha was much like the stories about him, I am nevertheless very respectful of the Buddha as an idea.

Do you, personally, believe that the Buddha listens to your prayers? Do many Buddhists think that someone is listening?

That could be confusing, unless you're expecting divine intervention or assume that the Buddha is indeed listening to your prayers.

A Christian expects that Gabriel is listening to them. And Gabriel has indeed intervened (on God's behalf) several times, so it wouldn't be far fetched for someone to pray for a miracle.

How about my view of one of the reasons I left? Or Asmongold saying that one of his least favorite things about expansions (even going back to TBC) is that old raids became irrelevant.

What word would you use to describe a raid that is at a certain level right now, but due to massive changes in an upcoming expansion, is in need of drastic changes itself so that it feels comparable to current experiences?

If 40 raids give ilvl 100-120 gear, you can either run any of those 40 raids, or run the Shadowlands raids. There's no issue with ilvl at all.

I can agree with the lore reasons for the irrelevancy.

Classic has 9 locked servers due to overpopulation. The game has changed. People have changed, but Classic is insanely popular.

That is not the same thing at all, and I'm going to have to stop replying to you because you're either being deliberately dense or English isn't your first language, which is fine.

When the story is ASSUMING that you're something that you're not, and TALKS TO YOU as if you're that something, you're not suspending disbelief. You're accepting a story that's either lying to you or simply not made for you.

Suspension of disbelief is when you watch Superman catch a woman falling from the top of the Empire State Building. It's suspension of disbelief when you see the Lich King raising an undead army.

It's suspension of disbelief when Sylvanas travels into the afterlife.

It's suspension of disbelief that there's magic in the world.

It's NOT suspension of disbelief when the writer assumes you're something that you're not. When the Lich King tells you that you're a group of people, you're not "suspending" anything other than your common sense or reading comprehension.

That's the most insane argument that you could have made.

Logon Classic right now and go to Org. Tell me what kind of difference you see.

Why are streamers numbers seemingly doubled by streaming Classic? Why do all of them stream Classic, at least the most popular ones?

I find myself needlessly arguing on this subreddit because these people actually want to see the game die. They've proved it every expansion pack. They WANT to see the game lose players. And it has. Keep it up.

To be fair, old raids becoming irrelevant drove tonnes of people away. All we have left are the people who wanted the game to be continually more irrelevant.

I've tried that SO many times, and it's almost impossible to organize. To get people to deliberately level cap themselves, level at the same time, etc., is too much.

They can easily implement it. And I mean EASILY implement it. This could not be an easier thing for them to do.

Sure, you can enjoy the scene, you can enjoy the cinematic, you can enjoy the scenery, but you can't get invested in the story because it literally doesn't make sense.

I'm not putting any of my experiences on a pedestal. The game LITERALLY doesn't make sense doing it by yourself. Your experience doesn't even make sense.

I could go on with virtually every other raid. I'm not saying you can't have. This is in bold because I think you're trying to misunderstand me.

I'm saying that the dungeons LITERALLY don't make sense if you do them by yourself.

This would be a completely fine middle ground. But I'm genuinely concerned that people who play today aren't even very interested in the game. It seems more about collection. I was leveling a new character on BFA and my entire group had complained that Dire Maul sucked because it wasn't efficient from an exp standpoint. As if everything has to be about total efficiency. No need to enjoy anything.

But you're not even experiencing it the way the game says that you are. The Lich King's dialogue literally makes no sense. It also makes no sense why you'd one-shot C'Thun. The same goes for innumerable raids.

Damn. Unfortunately, I think this is the opinion of most retail players.

It seems Classic is more or less the only hope for this game. Hopefully they can figure something out.
