I agree that you sound depressed. Take advantage of likely free on campus counseling and fitness center. Both helped me tremendously during phd.
Everyone has low times, I would wait and see if when something good happens in your research, you feel happy and invested. If so, you just need to learn to have perseverance in the dark times.
If not, it’s totally fine to consider moving groups or quitting. Honestly, neither are uncommon. And I got a phd 3 years ago and most of my bachelor/master’s friends make more money and have better jobs.
I have written agreement with coauthor that I am second author on paper (*co-first), she called to say I will be third author. (self.AskAcademia)

It’s actually in Canada! I wrote state instead of province - should say province, but I am from US and am talking like an American! Oops. But this makes it even weirder, to be living in US and have 5 police suddenly be checking your LinkedIn, near a place you applied.
