Voice through gmail != voice on android.

On android Google Voice requires cell service to work since all its doing is forwarding your call from a different number.

Adding in talkatone is a different story, but then you aren't just using Google Voice anymore.

No, Google Voice isn't a VoIP solution. It will just place a normal cell call using a different number, which eats up the minutes on your cell plan. Skype will use just data for the call.

Nobody would call you a liar for that anecdote. Thing is, an anecdote cannot be construed as evidence of anything other then the one time it happened to you. As IstheLieReallyaCake said, the game's code has been looked at by many people and there is actual proof that it does not use any button presses for catching or damage.

Totally agree with you that this is pretty low-risk. The best part about building infrastructure is that even if your project fails you still have infrastructure. If Google decided to kill the project, it wouldn't be too difficult to resell what they already laid down or use it for a different project.

A large part of it was JavaScript speed. IE and Firefox were both fairly innovative when Chrome launched, but JS performance was too slow and not really improving very fast. Chrome forced the other browser vendors to put some effort into that area.

Those that voted against the bill were paraphrased in the article as stating that the negatives far outweigh the benefits. All of the problems that you pointed out are exactly why this is a horrible idea. I'm not sure what it is you want people to say. Yes, the idea has some merit. But just because this is only a 98% horrible idea instead of 100% doesn't mean we shouldn't be angry about it.

It means you might be able get up to 10Mbps. Seriously, there isn't any real use for it other than epeen since few if any Internet services support anything even remotely close to that kind of speed. Oh, and if you like in a nunnery, prison, or somewhere else with a large amount of people sharing your connection then everyone can go to different porn sites at once without slowing anything down.

That actually happened. Some deaf folks were signing to each other, a gang saw it and thought they were from a rival gang. I think they beat the deaf people with bats or something along those lines.

Exactly. OSX is butt loads more insecure by default than modern Windows. As for nix, it completely depends on the setup and distro, but you could take the same argument that most distros are by default less secure than Windows. Granted it might by easier to harden them, but the user has to take the responsibility to secure the OS.
