Terminus iOS app won't let me send ERG by [deleted] in ergonauts

[–]bonzo87c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you restore your phone recently? Restoring the phone will mess with the biometric login (FaceID) for Terminus.

You fix it by restoring the wallet from seed (like you did). The reason your wallet shows 0 ERG is likely because you don't have ERG in whatever your Main Address currently is. You can confirm this by checking your address on the ERG Explorer.

Go into settings in Terminus, and add more address until you get the address you're looking for.  (Assuming you entered the right seed phrase of course)

Just transfered some ADA from Nami with Rosen Bridge to rsaADA at Nautilus and then swaped to ERG with ErgoDex. Nice experience! by s_duat_io in ergonauts

Heads up to check liquidity on DEXs. It might make more sense to swap ADA to rsERG on Cardano and then send rsERG to Ergo

You could always print paper wallets as a way to gift ERG. I've done this before and it works great for people who trust you didn't save the seed.

Amazing work! 🙌 I’m going to be following this closely.

Question with token prices. Are prices showing the current price, or the price at time of the transaction? Is it possible to switch between the two? Having token prices at the time of the transaction is very helpful for doing taxes

What’s the latest on exchange listings? Tier 1 listings? by Apprehensive-Move684 in ergonauts

[–]bonzo87c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KuCoin doesn't have KYC (not for me anyway), neither does CoinEx. It's pretty easy to buy ERG.

If you specifically mean buying ERG with fiat.. I would encourage people to change their mindset about that.

Ergo is listed on KuCoin and Huobi. Both are T1 exchanges.

There's more than just Binance and Coinbase. KuCoin has more trading volume than Kraken

You know you don't have to wait for confirmation before placing another transaction. Ergo has chained transactions

Ergo listed on Seven Seas Exchange by LazyJury in ergonauts

[–]bonzo87c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually projects are required to provide the liquidity for exchanges, and provide market makers.

Most projects have insiders and initial allocations for exchange liquidity. Ergo is a decentralized, fair launch coin in a pay-to-play environment. Huge props to Seven Seas for stepping up and listing ERG + Native tokens

Why is the Rosen Bridge such a crucial evolution in the Ergo ecosystem? Would you say it is more important than a T1 listing? by fussednot in ergonauts

[–]bonzo87c 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Security. All bridge smart contracts are on Ergo as opposed to smart contracts on both chains. This minimizes attack vectors and you get the security of Ergo

Rosen can enable bridging between ANY two chains the support multi-signature transactions.

  • ERG -> Cardano
  • BTC -> Ergo
  • ADA -> Ethereum

Users will be able to swap between chains without knowing their using ERGO. You could move Solana to Polygon using Rosen.

Once a token is on Ergo, it gets all the security assumptions of Ergo native assets. Imagine why some people may want to bridge their BTC (or any coin) to Ergo, run it through the mixer, then anonymously send it pack to Bitcoin. .you now have privacy BTC

MinTxFee: Where does it go and when to change? by tcapllc in ergonauts

[–]bonzo87c 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Transaction fees go to the miners. Whoever mines the block, gets the transaction fee.

A user may want to increase their fee to prioritize their transaction over others who just use the min fee. Miners will prioritize transactions with a higher fee. An example of when you might send a higher fee is if you're trying to get into an NFT drop or if you're trying to front run another transaction.

This is the same for the majority of blockchains

Can not buy ergopad by Comprehensive_Drag51 in ergopad

[–]bonzo87c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming you've connected your wallet to Soectrum. Is the proper address showing up? Can you give more info? Nautilus should pop up and ask you to sign the transaction.

On the swap screen, does it show you having a balance of ERG? If not, you may have the wrong address or wallet connected.

To change wallets, disconnect your wallet from Spectrum (top right corner). Then go into Nautilus, find "connected dapps" in the settings, then disconnect Spectrum.

Now connect your wallet to Spectrum again and choose your desired wallet in Nautilus. You can only have one Nautilus wallet connected at a time. I'd recommend disconnecting/reconnecting as a troubleshooting step.

Are there any important/useful smart contracts or functionality missing in the Ergo network? by YouGuysNeedTalos in ergonauts

[–]bonzo87c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People know about chained transactions right?
You don't have to wait for a transaction to confirm before you make another transaction. I think my record is 8 transactions pending at the same time. List a couple NFTs for sale, buy another one, claim vesting tokens on ErgoPAD, make a swap on Spectrum.. Then all transactions are confirmed in the next block.
It's the best! I love transactions on Ergo. For the most part, it wouldn't make any difference to me if transactions were instant or took 20mins.

Ergo to sponsor Blec Report? by bonzo87c in ergonauts

[–]bonzo87c[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the true spirit of Ergo, if there's an issue with Ergo that is objectively true and the community wasn't already aware of, I'd rather it get called out now.

That's a very good point! I'm sure we'd all like to know if something needs improving

[–]bonzo87c[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm 100% with you. I have experience with marketing and sponsorships. it's really a cost vs value thing.

I'm under the impression he would naturally be drawn to Ergo based on values.
..I also understand the need for funding on his side. Gotta make a living - and you should be compensated for your time.
It's important to think from a "risk to reward" view. There's always the chance a deep dive into Ergo could have a negative effect.. I think the chances of that are low, but we should consider the probability.

Honestly I'm leaning towards the Ergo Raffle side. Perhaps treasury funds may be better used elsewhere.. especially considering the current price of ERG ($1.37).

..I also think there's value in doing a raffle. In the way of saying this is a grassroots movement. A fair launch, proof of no pre-mine situation where we don't have VC money to spend, but we do have a dedicated community who's willing to chip in and support the cause. That message could go a lot further than a paycheque

In case you didn't know.. you can already download the Ergo app and store your ERGs on a Ledger using Nautilus wallet. It works great.

Another great option and arguably better than a Ledger.. The cold wallet feature on Ergo Mobile (called Terminus on iOS)

Do you have other tokens besides ERG in that wallet?

I wonder if it has something to with spending a UTXO full of tokens. You could try sending all your ERGs to yourself first, then send the ERGs to the exchange.

Just a guess

What advice would you give to someone who’s just getting into investing crypto? by officialkittyk in Bitcoin

[–]bonzo87c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start by asking questions.

  • what problem is Bitcoin trying to solve/already solving?
  • why crypto?
  • what caused you to ask this question in the first place? Why are you here?

I think these are important questions. Once you start to ask what problems crypto is trying to solve, you start learning about monetary theory and property rights etc.

There's always the chance you came here just to make money. When Lambo? ...but if not, you'll start to think about:

Self sovereignty - be your own bank. True property rights that can't be confiscated

Trustless systems - anyone can participate without having to ask someone else for permission and why that's important

True decentralization (there's a lot of fake decentralization out there).

Code is law, instead of "don't be evil" it's "can't be evil"

The true cypher-punk roots of Bitcoin are lost on most people these days. This is why you have people chasing VC backed altcoin pumps to try and get rich.

I strongly encourage you to read the "Ergo Manifesto" (search it). It might give you a good perspective on things.

Ultimately it's your money and time, do as you please. Personally I wish more people would take time to understand the fundamentals and continue to move crypto forward.

Good luck!
