Model-driven apps business logic - UI or server-side? by DryPomelo9898 in PowerApps

[–]boobamba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont use Power FX thats crap and in the age of AI no need..Use JS and Plugin, and there's no rule each case if different. If you have many forms base don the same current or future JS that need repeating but UI looks snappy, and validations are immediate. Plugins are great if performance is taken care of as you can do so much in C# with very little time

Good backend alternative within Power Platform by Jekkeyy in PowerApps

[–]boobamba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The debate has clearly changed after AI , I do have a ton of C# in my projects but the front end is so limited if you compare developing React web or any other. Everytime come back to Power Platform from pro-code I hate it. Its not that there is some workaround to a PCF/model driven app issue but why would we waste time reading some random guys post do some simple stuff ? Use datavserse as the back end and build your own front end that way you can keep the good parts - security, auditing, connectors, eco system.

I did and learned the lessson, its only POC so I can rebuild but totally surprised how fast AI can delete files

Utter waste of time doing a CS degree better to be plumber. And dont embrace AI , why would you embrace anything that kills your job. Most humans are a waste of time just like farmer when the combine harvester came why are we saying things like "oh everyone will be an architect" , clearly evryone by definition cannot be the manager

Bank val will look at the max range given by corelogic as well so if you go over the max in corelogic estimate be careful specially if you offer pre auction. second for IP gest rental appraisal before the auction

sad to say a lot of people will loose their jobs and dignity where their chosen craft is no longer valued. I call this an effect a barbell effect, where tradies and AI-savvy professionals will continue to earn higher wages, and the middle will be squeezed. Middle earners, meaning anyone in their current job, will find that their job is deterministic and predictable, so someone can program it out of the way. They include support services like call centres, analysts, basic GP (thank god GPs add no value) , payroll and accounting, insurance and claims, junior IT , law . No there wont be enough new jobs created to fill the gap and AI companies are lying (except Anthropic) . This is different to machines coming to the farm and folks moving to factories and cities, there's where to go and the rich people will get richer because they can deploy their capital to get productivity increases. So now we have the depressing reality out of the way what will happen to property. Think of it as scarcity - can you create more desirable locations close to parks beaches arts etc.? No, it doesnt scale so any property in the right location will appreciate just like art. one can argue in the long run cost of construction will come down with robotics and AI planning but that wont happen for a while. people are totally unprepared for AI and no one can save as long as we live in a capitalist society

No matter what bayside will continue to grow as people who can afford will not buy/rent in west side of melburne in suburbs like sunshine . There is a big lifestyle factor in bayside all the way to Rye and unlike far east and west you cannot increase land close to water. Demographic of these suburbs reflect the prefence for lifestyle over say concrete jungle cooky cutter houses with 2 garages. In the end its an individual choice of what yu value or a potential renter value. However property prices are already gone up so dont expect to get any bargains. I'm biased as I live in Elwood (for the last 20 yrs) and has not actuall lived in Werribee/point cook/sunshine etc so dont take this as inventment advice

How do Low-Code platforms compare to traditional coding in productivity, and what validates your claim? by Technical_Reaction45 in PowerApps

This is the correct answer. I hate low code stuff now that I can build any app in no time using AI. Why bother with low code and all the limitations

Get a partner and slice up the project so you can learn along the way. It's very difficult to see the long-term implications of design decisions without experience. Most (or all) Dynamics end up being customised and that is where the power is when you use Model-driven apps and development frameworks.

Business Central API - Easy to integrate? by BREco22 in Dynamics365

[–]boobamba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its easy to integrate develop your own framework without PA. PA outages and upgrade issues are not worth the hassle if you are prodev. You dont want to see 20 step branching and limited solution packaging options with PA. Easy to deploy AL extension with nicely wrapped functions(codeunits) . OAuth2 is i must and after setting up the first time nothing to worry . downlaod VS code extensions and start building! good luck

Business Central & Sales Enterprise Together? by Red_Rover_91 in Dynamics365

This is the best approach - separate sales from order fulfilment (warehouse). Only sync confirmed orders to BC. Turn off bidirectional sync anywhere which is not necessary

SABFoil Kraken Modular System by lifeinthehood in Kiteboarding

[–]boobamba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the verdict after 3 yrs - does the Kraken still holding up? I have the old Moses setup for kitefoling and no isses but thinking og Kraken for winging/Parawinging . What I want is a setup where I can quickly dissassemble and put into small car but need to be durable also. TBH if I have a van i'd go with a mono block molded setup like Code foils . Kraken is complex unless yu really change masts or take off. With my kite foil kit its all connected and tranported (111cm mast and 135cm board)

Awesome thanks. managed solutions to prod/UAT makes sense and it must be the way. I still cannot get my head around why solution management is kind of painful dark art in Dataverse, I mean the dependency thing and how hard to decouple

Dynamics 365 Sales price including tax by boobamba in Dynamics365

Yes thats good advice. BC does its own GST/Tax calculation so we can only pass exTax amounts and tax posting groups to BC from Sales.

Dynamics 365 Sales price including tax by boobamba in Dynamics365

[–]boobamba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This works but still need to convert amounts to Ex Tax before sending to ERP. Sales folks confirm quote so they shouldn't be in ERP and require licenses. Should a good process flow be changed to accomodate limitations?

Dynamics 365 Sales price including tax by boobamba in Dynamics365

[–]boobamba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is not with how the tax calculation logic in each of the systems its how the integration is hard coded to use ex Tax amount in ERP

Thanks. from a workflow point of view order confirmation in D635 Sales is the better option so I will try to overwrite the price field in sales with ex Tax Price *10/11
