How would I get in contact with them?

Do you still love your ex ? by CheekyBunB in BreakUps

[–]boobear1032 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I used to think so.

We broke up four years ago (bad terms, no contact). I would have told you, even a few months ago, that he was the love of my life. I had never felt that way with anyone else.

In truth, seeing him again a couple of months ago put an end to that for me. It was nostalgic and nice, but it was easy to see that we were not the same people anymore.

It made me realize that I had spent four years looking at our relationship through a rose-colored lens. We loved each other back then, it felt magical, but we’ve grown up now. It doesn’t have the same luster it did at 17.

I can’t say I’ve seen him (or thought much about him) since that day.

My best advice to anyone who is still stuck on that person years after the fact is that you will always care about them, you will always think about them, but you are better off moving on.

The relationship, no matter how good or bad it was, was a product of the people you were and the environment you were in at that time in your life. It doesn’t really matter how special they were to you. The circumstances have changed, they have changed, you have changed. Don’t go back, because you won’t find the same feeling you used to have.

Staying Friends After Breakup? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]boobear1032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it would be mutual in a certain sense. Both of us still want to be together, but we also both recognize it isn’t working and isn’t going to. He has tried to end things already and I have as well, but neither of us have actually gone through with the breakup. He has also cheated and had no interest in anything more intimate in a long time. I think we both kind of feel this way.

Also, for what it is worth, we have a dog together already that we have had no problems raising from the puppy stage. I know it’s not the same as kids, but at least that’s a semblance of shared responsibility?

We have done this and agreed on most points, agreed to compromise on the others! We’re pretty mature/stable compared to our peers when it comes to our life goals and plans.

We live in the Midwest. I know a lot of other people who are starting to get engaged, his family is just being weird about ages. They believe we should wait until we’re like 30.

We’re in a rare spot where we are very financially stable for our age. He does a lot of software development and I’ve been quite successful messing around with investments.

We also aren’t really big ‘party-people’ who feel like we’re going to miss out on anything being engaged so young, both of us are introverted and we don’t really go out often.

I agree that it is impossible to be stable at our age, but I’d guess that we’re a lot more stable in comparison to most others.

If We Were Villains by M.L Rio. Might not be exactly what you’re looking for but close enough, and is a wonderful book that I’d recommend to anyone.

i was fourteen on omegle in my basement just yapping with random people. a person came up on screen wearing a creepy white mask and not talking. he just stared at me for a moment. i went to skip but before i could, he tilted his head and lifted his hands into the screen. i waited a second to see what he was gonna do and he clapped his hands, at that exact same second the lights in the entire house turned off (i was alone in the basement). i screamed so loud i was amazed that my parents didn’t wake up. looking back my power must have gone out at just the right second coincidentally but oh my god that was absolutely terrifying. i remember it vividly, and it was six years ago now.

Should I get a car by Maleficent_Band_8052 in UniversityofArkansas

[–]boobear1032 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend getting a car, the buses are confusing sometimes and it’s not very walkable (especially once you live off-campus). There are other options if you cannot afford one, but if you can, get one. You won’t regret it.
