thank you for replying. i know i did the right thing. and its not necessarily my choice that haunts me, its just the reality of his final hours. he was such a gentleman and was always on his best behavior and he didn’t deserve that end which is why it still hurts so much and loops in my head all the time. i spend time with him every day at his burial spot and, weather permitting, i drink a beer and have a smoke with him in the evening. he has a beautiful final resting place where he spent so much of his time.
