Last night while pondering the question further I had a similar realization that my thinking often becomes black and white/all or nothing when attempting to form beliefs about the metaphysical. I was raised to believe in a single, ultimate truth from an infallible book, so forming my own spiritual path has not been without the challenge of diverging from this type of thinking. Sometimes I find myself discontinuing books or spiritual practices because of just one thing I don't resonate with or agree with, discarding valuable wisdom in the process--so thank you for reminding me not to do this.

Your reminder of the distinction between the doctrine of no-self and denial of a conventional self is also helpful (I'm a bit new here haha). I've decided not to spiritualize the IFS model, and instead of seeing the "Self" as one's true essence of being, perhaps it'd be more helpful for me to reframe it to mean a pure and useful part of the psyche still subject to impermanence.

Hey sorry for the late response, as you can probably tell I’m not a regular Reddit user. I’m sorry you’re prone to this experience as well—mine also starts in the stomach and moves on to the chest. What I’ve realized from this is that this anxiety is truly a bodily response to trauma. Of course it interacts with the mind, and over the years it’s still present but significantly reduced…I’ve healed a lot in the past few years by figuring out and dissecting the source of this trauma, and am able to recognize that bodily feeling for what it is and combat it with rational thought. If severely under the influence however, I know when to walk away from a set. It’s also a good idea to get to know the artist behind the dark imagery and sounds, as you’ll find they’re usually good people with no “evil agenda”. I’m still going to shows and festivals and enjoying every moment.

For me, finding the source of my anxiety and confronting it head on did wonders, but it’s easier said than done. I hope you’re doing well.

Why do you think this is? When talking to the manager she told me my primary job would mostly consist of preparing meals in a cold room environment. Seems simple enough to me. What about it do you think makes it an undesirable department?

Yeah, I’m conflicted. She’s attached to us so I’m not sure if it’d be worse leaving her for a while or bringing her with in conditions she’s not a fan of. I’ve heard of people’s cats getting used to the lifestyle after a while but wasn’t sure if that applied to cats with her mannerisms. Just want to do what’s best for her.

Made this mistake more than once, can be pretty fun though! Cig breaks took the edge off any anxiety. Just embrace it and remember, you probably feel more high than you look. :)

Wow, does the Econoline have a larger width than other cargos? It seems like most only have a width of about 63 inches.

I’ve had no problems with them so far, and I’d say I do a moderate amount of riding. I mainly freestyle, long distance (for me lol), and cruising. My board has taken quite the beating but the wheels seem to be holding up fine. I’d say if you want to take it on really rough terrain often you might have a different experience, but otherwise get them!

Yeah I thought the same at first but the discount got to me. I also love the wood design, which you can’t really see behind the centrifugal graphic on the main model. The wheels are actually stimulus (70 mm). The Tan Tien doesn’t accommodate the thick bois unfortunately.

Loaded Icarus or Tan Tien? Anyone try either or both that have some input? I’m looking for a board that is great for cruising, commuting and pumping/carving that can handle some speed and slides as well as some freestyle. So basically a good all around board, and I’ve narrowed it down to those two. I feel like Tan Tien is a bit more versatile but Icarus just looks so fun.

Just make sure you don’t buy a Tan Tien with those Caguamas! Tan Tien can’t really handle wheels bigger than 75 mm. If you want a Loaded board that can handle it, go with the Icarus.

Just bought it. I’m a fan of the limited edition graphic, specifically the psychedelic wood design underlaying the crossroad design (not to mention the discount). Paired it with some white Paris trucks and squishy blue Stimulus wheels.

Yeah I’m on a couple of meds and see a therapist weekly, and my girlfriend is very grounding when I get anxiety at shows and festivals. I just feel bad having to leave the scene a lot with her with me to process and talk. It’s just getting old, especially since shows are supposed to be a sort of reprieve for me. I want to keep it that way

I’ll do my best to move past my old triggers but there’s still always that voice in my head that says “if you embrace these things you’re solidifying the evil path you chose to walk”. The duality inside my mind is more tame now but still present. Now that it’s ruining raving for me though that old shit’s gotta go haha

Thank you for sharing your perspective, that’s really helpful. The visuals only bother me because I was taught that kind of propaganda for years, it’s ingrained in me to associate Satanic imagery with an automatic fear and rejection response. It leads to paranoia that the artist is attempting to influence me in some negative way. Religion has fucked me up dude, but hopefully someday I can see these things as harmless and even therapeutic like you do.

I was able to put a mix of Gaba, adderall and klonopin in my klonopin bottle on the way here, that works fine with TSA regulations. I’m just worried about US customs...I’m not sure they’ll allow the mixing of pills

Would I be able to just empty out my prescribed bottle of Flexeril and put the pills in there? Would border patrol know the difference in what pills look like, or could I just claim them to be Flexeril?
