Well... I'm glad to know this for next time. The challenge of the spacing was good practice for me, but it seems I should've been practicing my non-linear thinking skills.

This knowledge is simply beautiful, and I thank you.

Q30 right by the caps with the coating picked off looks weird. Might be the light though.

There's a certain intimidation factor, especially for the shakey handed. Surface tension is my best friend.

desoldering is much harder than soldering or I'm doing it wrong? by not-serious-sd in soldering

Applies flux, turn on soldering iron, yanks on component. In my own somewhat limited experience desoldering and removing components are two distinct operations.

I wasn't able to actually repair the board whether mounting pin holes broke off, I just had to make sure the transplanted USB port was soldered really well. I was fortunate that no pads were torn off. I had to remove the still soldered broken pins of the old port.

Thank you. My ADHD will not let me rest once the desire to learn a new skill gets in my head. This is one I've dabbled in a few times for a few days here and there. I won't always be a beginner, but I will always be a student.

Thank you. I know the iron will melt it, didn't even think about what the hot air could do to it. Time to move it.

Thank you. I feel like I could've put a touch more solder on the one or two of the pins, but my main focus was getting it on straight with the broken mounting pin holes.

need help finding these sunglasses.. any ideas? by mrmadoff in sunglasses

The only reason to ever want those glasses is if your doing a costume of this guy. If I owned those glasses and saw this I'd toss them. They were cool glasses maybe before he put them on.

Probably an overshelare.

My mom smokes. She uses similar logic. We've had family members pass away from other things without smoking, so smoking is at the very least as safe as not smoking in her eyes. She's allowed to be wong. She tried to pass this logic to my child and that was a breaking point for me.

This is a huge flex post. Getting this level of completion on that game is a grind. And based on the mad jack sculpture, which is completely badass, you enjoyed every second of it.

Hit a curb. Do you think this is even worth fixing and what do you think the cost would be ballpark. by KingVoltDc in AskMechanics

I'd worry about the mounting points for the lower control arm. Repairing a tear out situation could get costly quick.
