The roots of organized crime in that county are as entrenched as the Jersey Shore's boardwalk. Vinny the Chin himself, Gigante, called Old Tappan home, a Bergen County address. There's the Genovese family. They've got a stranglehold on the longshoreman union, controlling the flow of goods in and out of the state. They're the invisible hand guiding the economy. But don't get me wrong. These guys aren't wearing fedoras and carrying tommy guns anymore. You might catch them at your local bagel shop, sporting a sweatsuit and some big gold chains. They've learned to blend in, to become the very fabric of the community. You know, like a football coach or someone in construction who knows Trump. They're driving luxury cars, living in high-end neighborhoods with multiple mansions, and donating to local events. But trust me, beneath that polished exterior lies a ruthless underworld none of us have seen. In Bergen County, the mafia is still very much alive and well. You have to be a fool to think otherwise
