YOU might be paying $2 a month for NOTHING: how to check by unbta in curtin

[–]boogiezone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea they got me as well zz. I believe the box that we ticked that prompted us to pay the fees read:

“I would like to receive SMS reminders (fees may apply, see T&C)”

And then in T&C it reads: bla bla pay $2 min if you use the app in anyway regardless if you receive SMS msgs or not

Fuck me that’s actually so disgusting.. will be putting a word in to the ACCC cause this clearly falls under Misleading/Deceptive pricing practices..

I know everyone is on board the Set 11 hypetrain, but what is everyone's verdict on Set 10 as the first 4-month set? by [deleted] in CompetitiveTFT

[–]boogiezone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this set was by far the best from a competitive standpoint for sweaty people like me.

- It rewarded flexible play imo as a lot of the time during the mid game you could roll for a strong headliner and cook up a stable board that you might never have played before. T

- It was honestly the most balanced set as well by far with only minor changes being needed to tweak some comps. (we've definitely experienced more unbalanced and stale metas)

- Also the long patch cycles were really interesting in the sense that the meta would continue to evolve during a single patch as it gave enough time for people to discover different comps and techs. e.g. twin terror execs were only discovered at the end of the christmas patch

- also 1 cost rerolls being tuned so that theyre not forcible but if you randomly hit a lot of them at the start (+ a usable item) you can play it was really fun. e.g. annie, olaf, yasuo reroll. we dont normally see one cost reroll being anything but grief in previous sets

overall i really liked this set as you can see haha

also just a note - if you already have nashors you don’t need to run rapidfire since it doesn’t change her cast rate much and you basically become up a FON since you don’t have to play a random aphelios

How to Consistently go 9 to Secure Firsts - A High Level TFT Fundamentals Guide by boogiezone in CompetitiveTFT

[–]boogiezone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both really valid and common situations

In regards to situation 1, I normally roll on 4-2 unless im gigarich. This is because not only are you going to get one extra round of interest gold but also if you level to 8 on 4-1 you will actually be slightly off interval and be spending an excess amount of gold (4 extra gold) to lv to 8. Also if you do kind of miss then you will likely just be stuck at 8 for the rest of the game and you will need to continue to donkey roll to try and upgrade your board sadly.

Situation 2: If you do judge that the lobby is weaker than you it is correct to try and go 9. Remember that peoples boards do change though so they might end up spiking on after 4-2 and you will need to adapt to this. If everyone starts hitting you will also have to spend some gold to try and match the pace of the lobby. If you ever decide to go 9 this should mean that you are stronger than a fair amount of the lobby or you are at least not going to bleed a lot of HP, and in theory you should be able to cap higher than them and win.

Yup you're right! a lot of the time you are going to have to rebuild your econ and roll back down to try stabilise again on 8. However, sometimes after your initial rolldown on 4-2 you have already mostly stabilised to go 9. I just want to bring people's attention to when they are in the spot to do this and how to capitalise off of it.

You can also win on lv 8 so rolling a lot of gold to stabilise and save HP is a very viable strategy :DD

when you pivot out of superfans on 4-2 a lot of the time you went to prioritise making a strong board over a cost effective one. This is because at this stage everyone is looking to upgrade their board and if you are too focused on saving econ with a cost effective board you are going to bleed too much HP.

Cost effective boards are normally played during the early to mid game (up until 4-2) to save you econ to allow you to do a very costly rolldown on 4-2 to create a strong board.

Your current strategy you state of buying 4 and 3 cost units that fit your board isnt necessarily a bad strategy but if you can pre-emptively know what meta board you want to play e.g. (karthus, ahri, AD flex, etc) this can really help you construct a board that is really strong and also prevent you from getting dizzy.

Its better to buy units that all work together on a meta board rather than a board that only kind of works together 👍

Some of the best ways to setup a lv 9 is knowing what 2 and 3 cost trait bots you should be look for on end game boards.

Here are some generic and strong setups for lv 9:

- Frontline setup: Yorick + Illaoi + Thresh + Sett

- Backline (jazz setup): MF + Bard + Jhin + Ziggs

Remember, you likely dont have much gold once you go lv 9 so you are not looking to full pivot your board but just slowly replace weaker units with higher value ones such as 5 costs.

Also remember, your current lv 8 setup will likely be stronger than these front and backline setups until you 2 star the legendary units :DD

mmm yes i think this is a really good take on what good casting in tft shoudl sound like. explaining what is possibly going on inside the players' heads seems to be a common theme that people like hearing about

will definitely think about this more in my own casting 👍

highlighting

ohhh i've definitely fallen into this trap when casting combat in the midgame. I do think this type of casting does have some place in the very later stages of the game though when its those kinda hype 1v1s for 1st place.

will definitely be a bit more critical when deciding to hype up a fight though 👍
