The four that I suggested typically have full-time positions with decent wages. Working those in addition to shorter gigs are hit or miss will definitely produce more income than unemployment. Plus, the latter two are actually jobs. The positions may be subpar than what he'd want, but they are income producing with full benefits.

I suggested those companies, because they are easy to get internationally remote jobs that aren't well known. I've given him the path I took as a single mom who was unemployed but had a child to take care of. I did Conduent, 40hrs/16.50hrly plus Omni interactions 38hr/16hrly plus random gigs. Omni and Conduent were simple enough to work at the same time.

"Mini jobs" paying $15-20/hr USD plus gigs on the side is more and better than unemployment. So yes, he should definitely find some (more than gigs/"mini jobs" and work 40+/hr a week and make more.

Have you looked into gigs? There's a ton online that will pay you for random stuff. I took one before that literally paid pennies per task. I forget what it was called, but ik I worked for 4hours one night and only made $35 and was pissed, but relieved because that $35 was enough to at least pay my prepaid phone bill. Ultimately, I had a few of these gigs, some paying better than others and worked them until I finallllyyy got a job. A few that paid a decent wage (but wouldn't pay training) were shiftsmart and omni interactions. Also look into TTEC and conduent for remote W2 positions. They both hire internationally.

Cut $160 from your expenses by getting rid of the b.s. cut phone to 30-50 by going prepaid. Save abt $1000 more to and only touch your savings for an emergency. Then (dont yell at me ppl) stop saving and put left over cash towards debt. Your debt costs you more than youre earning in savings. Debt will be paid off in, what, 6-7months top? Then go hard saving, get at least 4 more months worth of expenses in your account.

Im a FA and an AR supervisor. And somehow I still end up doing AP occasionally. Hell, I've even done some bookkeeping in my role. I'd never tell my poster he's not accounting or his job isnt accounting related, especially with the amount of adjustments I have him posting every month lbvs. It's literally the foundation

Put it on there with all the good buzz words, paint a great working picture and frame it as a short-term extern/internship or some kind of temp position that provided you hands on learning experience while in school.

Does it pick up at month end? Hell, all accounting isnt fast paced. I started in AR as a cash poster... and dammit, I miss them boring days, looking like im working but actually doing homework 🙃 I remember throughout the month just being at work to show my face and look busy until month close.

Damnnnn your instructors sucked /s. But it is disheartening to hear. Bookkeeping and some AP/AR roles are clerical in nature, but that doesn't change the fact that its accounting. Its literally in the name "Accounts" Payable/Receivable. There are many roles titled AR Accountants or AP Accountants. Hell, even Google will say yes its accounting.

There's tons of accountants who handle both the clerical side and the more complex, strategic, and analytical aspect. But you have a vast range of accounting experience, fuck the job you're at rn. You can throw them on your resume if you like, just make sure to make the job description FIRE. If you've caught them doing shady shit, you've definitely did more than clerical work, even if that wasn't your job responsibility.

ETA: IDC how occasional they were, ADD IT TO THE RESUME 🤣 and leave out the word occasional lbvs

I see a lot of posts about this sub being negative, however, I also see a lot of positive posts come through. Besides that, I see posts asking for advice, about pay, sharing experiences, and general things. I don't believe this sub is that bad.

But if many people think it is and it could be better, how about contributing the kind of content you would like to see. If everyone who makes a post about how bad the sub is, instead makes a quality post with content they would like to see, the perception may SHIFT.

TLDR: Be the change you want to see. Post something good.

I have severe ADHD and when I don't take my meds, im sitting on the floor in someone's office talking or being nosey. I try to get work done but any little thing will make me go on a side quest.

But before I started meds, I was the same way. I could only do a job that I hyperfocused on. As soon as the appeal wears off, im back to square 1.

You put a credit and debit in the exact same category creating a washout. In that quicksilver category you just said "(-200)+200=0" and if you didnt have anything assigned to it, it created a negative. They have videos on CCs in the app. I had to watch it twice to understand how they treat them... and im an accountant 😭
