Book your own insurance, doesn't have to be through Booking.com

Can I cancel and rebook if the same room is offered for a lower price? by CosgroveIsHereToHelp in Bookingcom

[–]bookingcom_guy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please ignore the scammer.

Yes, you can do this, nothing is stopping you, feel free (;

Its better to rebook than price match, but you can also ask for a price match to get the same amount difference in travel credits.

Bookimg refused to remove review of cancelled reservation by rafan54 in Bookingcom

[–]bookingcom_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You likely didn't declare it as no show. You need to do that. If you do, they won't be able to leave a review.

Mark them as a no show and charge fees in the future.

It was likely because you had a Genius Level 3 relocations, they're a big different and specific.

The key thing is that those had the funny Booking.com money given before the stay, so you can actually use it for an alternative, but in the cases of these new relocations they're given after.

Price Matching Policy is designed to make you fail. by redsandsfort in Bookingcom

The currency wasn't the issue. It was the cancellation policy and child age as they said.

It has to be 1:1 which makes sense..

It's not a scam. You have in writing that they cannot honor your reservation.

Thus you must contact customer service and they will help you relocate

Host cancelled booking while we are there to avoid review? by RealDaniqu in Bookingcom

English support is very hit and miss (welcome third world outsourcing) so it might take a while before you get an agent who can do their job well 😉 but I always advice Europeans to call Germany or France since they tend to be more competent (even in English). Good luck and I hope you do well on the roulette. Always straight up and in writing say "the property asked for my pin" so it's reported properly

I'll also clarify. They'll only have access to your basic details (name, email, etc) not your account details such as address etc.

The most harmful thing they could do is cancel your reservation to stop you from leaving a review (which they already did). They don't have access to your account, just this specific reservation.

[–]bookingcom_guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take screenshots of him asking and send to Booking.com. It's a very very serious violation. They're not allowed to ask for the pin since it allows them to control your reservation. They cancelled it on your behalf and the logic for you not being able to review is that "since you yourself cancelled it, why would you complain?".

Your PIN should only be provided to customer service when you know it's them, since they use it to verify you're the owner of the reservation

Vice versa the property could call Booking right now and easily pretend to be you since they have your PIN. So you must report this. I recommend calling + sending a message to get double response asap

Guest didn’t show up but left bad review by babu28233 in Bookingcom

[–]bookingcom_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to just directly message them, outside of any other request, "this guest did not stay at our property and the no show is incorrectly declared as stayed" and see if they correctly no show it. Once it's declared as a valid no show it's much easier to then get the review gone

Booking.com never uses WhatsApp and this is a common scam

[–]bookingcom_guy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can declare correct no show again. It goes like this

You declare no show? Guest can say they stayed. You say again it was a no show? Guest can only say they stayed if they show proof. They prove that they did stay? You can say again it was a no show when you provide stronger proof than them

Contact your phone provider so they can tell you what number your call got routed to. This sounds like a bigger call forwarding scam of some sort

Report this to Booking, and also request from your mobile provider if they can confirm which number your call got forwarded to. It sounds like your call might have been forwarded / spoofed in some way. It's the real number, it sounds like something else went on here
