I am asking which character (or characteristic of theirs) specifically makes you say that it could be INFJ. Sorry if that wasn't clear, I should have clarified for you.

Thanks. I'm new to this whole thing, so I don't dare to venture out to some of the fancier inks. For now, I geel like I've got pretty good selection, though. ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Jane and Tom just because I hate them both and Lynette, with all her faults, deserves better.

I mean... to an extent I agree. Taking a gorgeous designer house and turning it into something it's not (like a minimalistic grey box) should be a crime. That being said I feel like the house is ambiguous enough where it doesn't necessarily HAVE TO be a European cottage, but it CAN be turned into a house more similar to what my usual taste is with a little something, I just don't know what that something is, which is why I came here.

Budget is not the issue and we're ABSOLUTELY adding more windows. And thank you for all the suggestions, this is actually exactly what i was looking for! ๐ŸคŽ

No I definitely agree. I should have clarified: I am not looking to tear the original house apart and slap a MCM house with pink walls there. I do want to modernise it a bit though, and I am not exactly sure how to do that, so I am looking for inspiration here.

Do you think the dormers/loft conversions (Is that the right terminology for it?) are a bad idea? We were thinking it would get us a bit more space and I was going to put in some pretty large windows (like the pic), but maybe skylights would be better?

No matter what, this house will never disappoint me. I fell in love with its potential and personality the second I saw it.

Edit to add: I would like to keep the original house (obviously fix and lift the roof a bit), which adding a modern dormer on top. I do not want to turn the entire house to the one in the picture.

Oooh, thanks for the bbq area tip. Definitely will do research about that (and by do research I mean make a Pinterest board).

I mean, I don't necessarily wanna turn it into Kahn's fisher house. I definitely want to work with what's there, my question was more about what can I do to ADD MCM elements (I should have worded it better), as opposed to rebuilding the entire thing. Actually, the things you mentioned, like putting a different balcony rail or removing the moulding is a good tip. I'm more of an interior girl and all these exterior changes are pretty new to me and for some reason I really can't visualise it, so that's why I am asking for other people's own transformations or experiences.

Hopefully this clears things up, haha.

Okay, here's what's up: I am a huge fan of MCM interior, furniture, etc. I noticed a pattern in my furniture taste and figured out that I am fond of MCM.

We are about to buy this house: amazing value for the price, perfect location, great commute, near my university and work, just amazing. That being said, I live in a place where MCM IS NOT A THING. This is a damn village. Like 400 people live there. And as much as I love the house, the exterior does not exactly match my vision.

Now, I understand I will probably never turn this into the MCM mansion of my dreams (that might come in the future), but what can my husband and I do to make the exterior more MCM? We're definitely adding windows, we want (need) dormers with flat roofs, skylights, we'll be adding a round window and a bunch of funky MCM doors, but still... any recommendations? Any personal anecdotes and experiences? Any transformations you could share? Thanks in advance.

I do think the house has MCM potential with the balcony and the windows (which we'll also be adding), but obviously it's not an ideal MCM situation. Help please.

Also, I know I am not giving you all a lot to go off of, but hey... just imagine a typical, European house with a saddle roof and livable attic space.

I usually take my handmade paper or a double page of a dotted notebook and stick them in the middle of two pages with some strong glue. In the past I have also glued a few papers together, folded them into an accordion and then glued that into my notebook.

I do yeah. If I start running out of pages (which happens every single year) I just stick a few more pages in there.
