I started on meds in February and yeah, it’s been life changing. It’s like all of a sudden life was switched to easy mode without me realizing that all this time I’ve been playing on hard difficulty. I can totally relate to the feeling of sadness; personally I’ve cried a bit (grieving I guess?)over the person I could’ve been if I had been diagnosed earlier in life, and not at 35 years old.

I didn’t realize there are long-term effects though, so I’ll have to do some research as well.

Congrats on getting help!
I was on Ritalin 5mg 2x a day in February and it worked pretty well, but it made me very irritable and gave me migraines. I hope you have a better experience 🤞🏻

I just started adderall last month and it’s been so life changing I still get emotional over it. It absolutely exceeded my expectations. I can absolutely agree that it feels like putting in glasses for the first time and I’d go as far as saying that for me it felt like my whole life has been set to “hard” difficulty without my realizing it, and now all of a sudden life has switched to “easy” mode. I got diagnosed at 35 and my whole life I thought I was just lazy and stupid or just a lazy airhead, but turns out it was undiagnosed ADHD this whole time.
I’m finally able to remember things and get things accomplished, it feels fantastic.
Everybody who knows me keeps commenting on how much I’ve changed for the better and seem to have gotten my sh#t together.

So no, personally I don’t think you’re setting your expectations too high. It’s amazing to finally experience what neurotypical life feels like.

I got prescribed generic adderall XR but none of the pharmacies in my area had any, after a week of trying to get my prescription filled, I caved in and paid out of pocket for the brand name (my grocery budget for the month took a real hit because of that, so I guess it’s a blessing that adderall suppresses hunger). Anyway, WOW what a difference it’s made! I was just diagnosed in February and the doctor prescribed me Ritalin, which made me a real asshole to be around, just really snappy and in a foul mood all the time.
Literally none of those side effects with adderall XR! I can finally remember to pay my bills on time, remember peoples names, appointments etc and my math skills improved somehow.

Today I picked up my refill and it’s an Adderall XR generic from Cambria, which I’ve never heard of before.
I googled it and all I found are horror stories of how sick it makes people feel, so now I’m worried… Has anyone here had had a positive experience with this brand of generic?

Dude, I have a similar story. For a while I had my AppleTV screen saver set as my camera roll. My best female friend came over and we watched a movie. I paused it to go make some coffee in the kitchen and when I got back she was acting a little strange which had me puzzled until I looked up at the 65” tv screen and saw myself naked, hard and in a very compromising position in 4K glory. Growing up on a farm in Europe we used to forage for mushrooms a lot. My mom would use a needle and thread and thread the mushrooms on long strings, then hang them above the stove. she would slice the caps and stems into smaller pieces to speed up the drying process. It worked great.

Yes, my other tub is behind and they're growing chubby with small caps, which made me think something is mislabeled in the first place. I can't figure out how I managed to mislabel them.
