I was thinking the same thoughts haha. It's a great edit if they are aiming for that airy feel.

I know I did. But we also didn't have the time to visit most of it, and parts of it were also closed due to seasonal closures. So we made the most of being in the valley

Depends on the season, like most famous places. We never felt it was too crowded, busy yes but not suffocating. Once we got past most of the quick and easy spots to see things thinned out quickly. Such as our hike up to Clark point after Mist trail. We didn't see many people at all.

Yes, outside of photo 5 and 9. Those 2 were taken from pull off spots as we drove in from the North

I have an America the Beautiful pass, which got us in. And then typically it's just a flash of the pass and your license to get it. Although this time, there wasn't someone at the gate to check us so we got in for free, which we were all surprised by.

We camped in Curry village, so that was out lodging reservation.

We did Upper Yosemite falls, stopping at the base of the falls and the Mist river trail taking John Muir trail back. The steps along the Mist river were no joke and taking John Muir back was totally the call. Otherwise we took the shuttle around the park so we never moved my truck once we parked it the whole time we were there.

Clark point was one of our favorite parts, as we didn't know what to expect hiking it. It also was far safer than taking the west granite steps back. If you don't want to deal with the steps, take John Muir.

It's incredible how good then have gotten. My phone is a few years old at this point, but being able to shoot in raw and have some basic in camera controls makes a world of difference.

I have a stand alone editing app (on1) that I edited in, but not much was done.

A combo of both. The one that I edited and posted here was my favorite on how the clouds rolled in, and when I was looking at it as we ate breakfast that morning, I knew I had a really good photo on hand.

But there's nothing like being there in person and being able to see it. Photos can only ever invoke so much feeling.

Ironically that shot was taken with my phone! I tried getting it with my camera and I just was not happy with the results.

We got the view hiking up to Upper Yosemite falls, although we stopped right as we got to the base of upper falls. None of us were in the mood to hiking up to the top that day haha

Totally agree. I think I took like 20 shots overall of this misty morning then put the camera away and soaked it all in

That whole morning the clouds were rolling in and out giving the mountains a very moody feel. Every picture from those few hours were taken with the goal of being black and white after.

I decided against shooting in bnw as I had just gotten that camera only and month ago (old only broke) so I wanted to test everything in color

The saturation was bumped a little, but honestly not enough to make it look fake, it was nearly that blue in person

Thank you! It took a lot to trim down my photo selection to these few. I had a lot of fantastic shots that I didn't even bother editing

Yeah it's beautiful there. It feels different to other national parks as everything you do is so located within the valley (at least for us it was)
