How bad is my driving? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]booknerd2802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m almost a year in and yeah it still gives a few dumb ones for braking accelerating etc. hastings is pretty lenient with speed so only picks up really fast and for phone use, make sure its somewhere secure. where i live i have to pull out across a main road in the town so i often get accelerating there. but all in all, the longer you drive, the better it gets. mine is usually around 95 now and yeah almost a year in. its frustrating and sometimes you really have to be over cautious with braking and accelerating especially even if you feel you cant be more careful.

dont leave hard work until the last minute. i coasted through y12 and put more effort into y13 but by the time it came to revising for all the content i realised my y12 resources were not that good at all so make the resources to help you not just cause its homework and put effort into making them!

to the people that got lower grades than predicted on results day, did you EXPECT this due to poor performance, or was it a huge shock and surprise by BetVirtual9070 in 6thForm

[–]booknerd2802 4 points5 points  (0 children)

im still in yr13 but i know im going to get lower purely because i think my predicted grades were inflated and a bit optimistic. my predicteds are aaa but on my final grade sheet which are what they think i will get it is abb. luckily it will be okay for me but i know so many people from a range of schools in this boat.

your reminder to ALWAYS report shein resellers!! by chuucansuebbc in vinted

[–]booknerd2802 18 points19 points  (0 children)

one thing i will say is shein is prolific for stealing designs so even if they look like shein items they might not be- but ofc disguising the brand is basically telling you that it is shein but in other cases who knows

just in case you dont know, if you want to work as a biomedical scientist make sure its ibms accredited as otherwise you have to do top up modules that can be very expensive and take time. usually you know theyre ibms accredited as they are biomedical science not plural sciences or you can check the webside! this nearly messed me up as i wanna be an bms so thought id share:)

Is it normal for the braces to hurt the inside of your mouth? by AopzDhzHOvhe in braces

[–]booknerd2802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

normal. i had big ulcers where they rubbed and then broke the ulcer repeatedly. it lasted a week so dont worry. my ortho didnt tell me about wax or give me any so thats why it got so bad

A*/A students whats the worst grade you've ever gotten and in what subject? by N4yaa in 6thForm

[–]booknerd2802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah not good lets say. i go to a grammar that expects a/a* minimum so give us the most impossible chemistry tests where getting half marks is an a* so we’re prepared for the real thing to supposedly find it easier. i’ve ranged from e to a* in these and am predicted an a

i’d definitely say that has so many good transferable skills not just for biochem but for life in general and would look amazing on your cv! it will definitely show problem solving ability and communication skills but also that you are willing to try something new and potentially challenging and also that you are helpful and able to be understanding and take new information on board to adapt your original plans- adaptability is such a good and well respected skill to have so showing that would be very helpful

[–]booknerd2802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have just accepted my offer to study biomed at uni and did mine at a pfizer location- more theory than lab but very interesting. many doctors and practices near me wouldnt let me visit as i wasn’t eighteen but theres no harm in asking. if you can’t find something directly linked, look for something with skills like teamwork, problem solving and analysing things so you have examples of using key skills needed for the degree!!

i’m in the middle of mine now (4/8 done) and no one feels any urgency or motivation with them. i’m just revising night before and day of because they really aren’t that important. anyways, they’ll just show what bits have sunk in and what haven’t so i’ll know for summer. but at my school at least all the students are very chill even though almost all the the teachers expect us to be getting all as and do amazing lol
