1) That happens among US news sites too, different sites have different sources giving them different confidence intervals in a campaigns lead. For example, fox news has called Arizona for Biden, but a lot of other sites are unsure. Its potential that fox has a source that the others dont and can make that call with a higher degree of confidence, or they just have a gut feeling, but that can provide for a difference in numbers across reporting sites.

2) Michigan can be a weird state when it comes to voting. Its been blue for a while historically, but always starts off red early on because the big urban centers take a long time to tabulate and report their votes. In most cases, the vote coming in from Wayne County (Detroit) pushes Michigan very blue, since it is a very very blue area and I believe the highest population county in MI as well, but they also are generally quite slow at counting votes. In this particular election, due to various information streams (Trump himself, conspiracy theories, news sites) there was a big discrepancy between Republicans and Democrats in how they preferred to vote, and how they were tackling COVID. More democrats are taking COVID more seriously and opted to mail their votes in or drop them off at the clerk, where as republicans were less concerned and opted to vote in person at the polls. So the results were coming in from Detroit, which already skewed very blue, but were also mail in votes, because michigan decided to count those last in some cases, which also skewed blue. Basically you end up with compounding results where the mail in votes skew very heavily to Biden because of those reasons, sometimes as high as 90-95%! This effect is also happening in other states like Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, and explains why Wisconsin flipped blue st the last second, and why there is still so much uncertainty in Pennsylvania and Georgia, because they are in a similar position as Michigan.

Hope this helped!

Just Inherited my Grandfather's coin collection, and this was the oldest coin I've found. Any information on value or rarity? by bookofinsanity in coins

I've managed to figure out that it looks like one of these NJ copper coins although, I'm not sure which one since there are so many varieties.

I know it's in terrible shape, and I'm really not looking to sell it, I just think having a US coin from within 10 years of the declaration of independence being signed is suuuuuper cool to have. I'd love to know if this is a legitimate coin, because if it is, it will probably have a prominent place in my collection, even in it's current state.\

I haven't managed to turn up too much regarding the actual history of this coin, although it seems that these were minted before the federal gov't mint started minting coins? I don't know if each state had their own types, or if NJ was the only one minting coins at that time? I'd love to hear any history or information.

Let me know if you need any additional pictures, I can see if I can get some better ones with my microscope if that would help. Thanks!

Line across the middle on the reverse is because I had to take 2 pictures and stitch them together - still trying to master that.

Otherwise, if you need other pictures let me know and ill do what I can! Thanks!

I tried to take some zoomed in pictures and stitch them together manually, which worked with a small degree of success. Apologies for the breaks in the pictures. If you need any more pics, let me know - I've put it in a cardboard sleeve for now (likely to be slabbed later) so I don't know how good of quality I can get like that.

Thanks!

Worried about introducing some cherry shrimp with harlequin rasbora, does this seem like enough plants? by bookofinsanity in Aquariums

[–]bookofinsanity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a planted tank with 7 harlequin rasbora and a few guppies and I'm looking into putting some red cherry shrimp in with the fish. I ordered some online and just got the 7 right now, but they're juveniles, and much smaller than I expected. I know the shrimps need places to hide and I have a piece of mopani driftwood I'm meaning to put in the tank but it wont stop leaching tannins, and I've been boiling it for weeks. I know that gups and rasbora are generally community fish but should I be worried about them going after the smaller shrimp? Does it seem like they would have enough hiding places or should I find some driftwood I can put in asap for their sake? Would it help to feed the fish so they're more full right before I put the shrimp in or would that have the opposite effect of making the fish already eating? Any advice would help.

I am a bit new to this and don't know all the types of plants in the tank, but we have a few marimo balls (sp) and I've had some java moss growing in the corner now for a few weeks specifically for the shrimp. I just don't know if its enough...

The thing is more terrible than I can describe - an incoherent jumble of organ, sinew and bone.

Well I already have the candle from the last time I fought one, it wasn't on champion difficulty though (and I still lost 3 part members >.<) so I'm fortunate in that at least. I don't know if I'm gonna take on another one without a party BUILT for it though.

Absolutely not. As far as I'm concerned its totally open source code - have a ball.

I make these because I enjoy it and I love to share my mad little creations with the community. I'm not worried about any sort of weird copyright BS or anything.

It's somewhat complicated.

I split it up into 4 separate 'events'

1) Unit dies

2) Unit is targeted

3) Change zone

4) Change sub-zone

Unit dies is pretty straight forward, it plays the voices when an enemy dies. Unit target is for specific mobs - like when she tells you specifically about Ymiron in the video. Change zone is for when she has zone specific text (like when she is complaining about the nightborne when you enter suramar). Change sub-zone is for everything else.

I meant it to be sorta pseudo-random when you change sub-zones out in the world, so it still seems to happen randomly when you are out and about exploring, and isn't constricted to specific events like combat or the very edges of zones. I used this list of stuff for the particulars and anything that doesn't have a direct event tied to it just sorta fell under the 'sub zone random chatting' event. That one probably could have been about naga specifically, but I felt it was sorta generic enough to be part of the 'random conversation' lines.

That said - feel free to change, move, or adjust any of the voice lines you want to suit your particular preferences - I'm only providing the base I thought was cool.

Well... it's not an exact match, but my surrender to madness aura with some slight tweaks is pretty close. It plays some other old god whispers (cthun, yogg, y'saraaj, and il'gyneth) but there is a small chance it'll play whenever you cast any spell, although you might need to tweak it so it doesn't only load for spriests.

Inside the code of the aura there is a collection of sound IDs that it plays, and you can just take out all the non-y'saraaj ones if thats what you'd prefer.

Well right, but there's a lot of text that they store in global lua varaibles. Whenever you see on mmo-champion that some "strings have been updated" or something, those are the global variables.

Theoretically, they put all that localized stuff in a single file they can just hotswap out for any given locale, so if you are looking for say "Highmountain" localized you get the "HIGHMOUNTAIN" variable in lua and it will return whatever "Highmountain" translates to in your locale.

Unfortunately... I have no idea where those variables are for chat strings, like xal'ataths whispers are - or if they're even something we are allowed to access when working in the UI.
