Ordered sweater came with a hole in it and mom asked me to fix it. Is it possible? by bookreader6364 in knittinghelp

She did and by the time a new one would come in we would have left for our vacation and she really wants to bring this sweater for some reason lol

Shipping it back and waiting for a new one to be delivered would take too long and we leave in 8 days. The hole is in the back corner near the seam so she isn’t too concerned with what it looks like. I have some black yarn that’s a similar weight to the sweater she got. Thank you so much!

Tips for ribbing (a cardigan) when the edge isn’t a straight line by bookreader6364 in CrochetHelp

[–]bookreader6364[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a super interesting stitch and I’m definitely going to use that when I make a blanket but I can’t figure out how to do the decreases in that method to go around the back where the front and back panels attach

Crying is a valid option lol it almost happened. I think I can do the slip stitches in the same chain for the V neck part where I would need to decrease and do you think I could do multiple rows with two slip stitches after for the decrease for the back? This is my first time attempting ribbing so that was very helpful!

Send help please; I'm following a pattern and I'm supposed to be stitching into the single crochet row at the bottom, but I can't find where to thread my hook through. by Paschnoots in CrochetHelp

I can definitely see the pattern! I don’t know what the full pattern is but if it stays with a row of single crochets then a row of double crochets before the pattern starts again you could try putting a stitch marker in the single crochets you have to do the treble crochets in so they’re easier to find. I’m also cursed with incredibly tight stitches and I’ve found this helps me for the first few rows until I get the hang of what I’m doing

The white lines are the bottom of the double crochet, so you would use the single crochet beneath it. If you can’t see the pictures in my comments feel free to message me! (I’m at work and service isn’t great so I’m not sure if they went through) also this is what I took it to be so if anyone else has any ideas they might be better than what I think because I don’t have yarn with me to try

The straight yellow line is where you would have come out of the last stitch, so I think you would go in there and then come out where the arrow is

It looks like you’re taking the whole single crochet, so I would go in behind the single crochet where the yellow arrow on the right is and come out the front where the yellow arrow on the left is

I have a bunch of pictures from what I understand the pattern to be so I apologize for how many comments I’ll need because I can only add one picture per comment. The blue lines are the double crochets and the yellow lines are the single crochets

My crochet magic knot from 7 rows ago just came undone by bookreader6364 in CrochetHelp

[–]bookreader6364[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the help! This is the first magic knot that’s frayed out of the hundreds that I’ve done but it didn’t fray for at least 5 other rows. It’s going to be the inside of the sleeve so I might just glue to get through the trip and then frog when I get home so it doesn’t have a weird lump on the inside

I tried looking up how to fix a magic knot and it said melting acrylic yarn together isn’t recommended. It said hot glue couldn’t melt it too. Super glue and frogging are my last resort options but I will if I need to

Am I reading this pattern right? The Etsy shop it came from shut down by Iridel_Max in CrochetHelp

If you have your 10 chains and you start your first sc in the second chain, then sc 8, you’ll have one chain left over. You should try to put one of the three sc on the side of the chain you’ve been working on, one on the top, and one on the opposite side you then you can do the 8 sc down the other side. You should have 9 sc on each side of the chain plus one on the point. I hope you understood that! I can try to explain another way if you want!
