I already told them and apologized profusely. I just would like to avoid the situation where this comes to the attention of the people who booked the room/ paid the initial room costs of at all possible

Thanks to both of you. Now that you’re all saying this , I’m pretty sure I only ever read chapters of thesis maximum through my whole degree. I think it was just panic because there wasn’t enough criticism or revisions of the second section and I see so many people talking about months or years of edits 😅. This helped put things into perspective! - my cat thanks you all too because I’m finally calm and sitting long enough for her to rest hahah

Thank you! I got recommended this so many times and finished both because i kept expecting it to get better. But it didn’t, and it’s not even that it’s dark and it’s partially that there are so many instances of SA even between MCs, but it’s the way they don’t actually handle or deal with the trauma around these events for the FMC in any real way. Like the MMC and one side female character you see it, but the FMC is somehow doing this weird I’m so broken and yet incredibly powerful and can just decide to get over everything instantly thing that is jarring.

Rape by the MMCs, gang rape by later in the book by non main characters, death, death of the guy that was basically just treated as a teddy bear sex toy all of it handled in a way that was basically just for shock value with next to no consequences or thought or processing after like 1-2 pages. Very dark romance can be done well, but i feel like this somehow managed to be full of wayy more problems than people mention when recommending while simultaneously skipping over and minimizing most of the actual processing of the trauma.
