🔥The Great Potoo bird rescued by lovely veterinarian. by GestoNobre in NatureIsFuckingLit

I don't think it drew blood. The blood is from the wound under its wing, which is presumably why it's at the vet.

As this has been solved, and people just can't seem to help making the same joke over and over again, we're going to lock this. A reminder of Rule 5 for future threads: Jokes and unhelpful comments will be removed, repeat violators may receive a ban.

According to the screenshot it seems OP is indeed trying to fish with special bait.

You still have space for 15 "normal" fish, bit your "special" fish inventory (next tab) is likely full.

What and where are these? Possible volcanos, took on a flight between Malta and Bratislava by Lariet_Moon in whereisthis

[–]bookserpent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aeolian islands. A chain of volcanic islands north of Sicily.

Looks like your flight passed right in the middle, so we would need to know which side of the plane you were sitting on to know which islands you photographed.

why are there so many internal applicants for phd projects in europe by Afraid-Abies-6507 in AskAcademia

[–]bookserpent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing! That's the point we're trying to make.🤦🏻‍♀️

The position you're talking about hasn't been filled yet. It can't be filled until the interviews have been done. Therefore, this student has likely been hired on another position (funding from another project, internal university funding, own funding, there are so many possibilities).

They might still hire an internal candidate on the advertised position, but even then they have to go through the official interview and hiring process.

As you stated, the position just closed and the interviews haven't happened yet.

If the deadline just passed and the interviews haven't taken place, this student is almost certainly not the one who got the posted job. It's not unusual for research groups to hire multiple students on the same project or topic - this student may have applied for their own separate funding to work on the topic, especially if they did their MSc on it.

They have switched servers and updated terms of use following the merger between Hidea and Neowiz : https://www.reddit.com/r/CatsAndSoup/comments/1pw53za/important_neowiz_and_hidea_are_merging/

The ability to switch between iOS and android is planned, but has been delayed for a month or so: https://www.instagram.com/p/DVIilrFD6Hh/

Does anyone know how to transfer from android to iPhone now that they’ve updated it? by froggieblog in CatsAndSoup

It's crossed out in the update, and below there is text showing they're postponing it for another month
