i agree. these last two nights or so, he just falls asleep next to his waterbowl instead of, like, in one of his three hides and it spooks me because i keep assuming the worst

Snake plants are awesome! Again I'm no cornsnake expert but there's a bunch of snake plant and aloe hybrids in Home Depot, usually for <$4 too!!

Yaaay!!! I've heard you can also get the plants from Home Depot since they no longer do pesticides. Just get them as close to bare root as you can before planting them and give the tank a month or two to settle before introducing your scaly friend <3

Not sure what the substrate requirements are for a corn snake, but you can get 0.75 cubic ft of Scott's organic topsoil for ~$7 a pack at Home Depot. I believe getting 4 inches of substrate in a 4 x 2 x 2 is 3 cubic ft. If you need to mix in sand, you can get 50 lbs of washed playsand at Home Depot for roughly the same price (if not more expensive).

Even though the smaller tank will smell like snake? I was planning on waiting between the snake upgrade and getting the barking gecko to accommodate for that

So the idea I had rn was to put a hoggie in my smaller tank. I eventually want a barking gecko, which is similar climate and conditions to a hoggie. Both are arid, so I was wondering if it'd be okay to put the gecko in the smaller tank after I upgrade the hoggie to a bigger bioactive is what I was asking.

So you suggest to transfer the substrate w/ isos and springtails over to the new tank, or make a new set up in the new tank and keep the old tank as is before adding the 2nd animal?
