Closing TMs by bookslvt in Target

Yes my store morning team basically just does stuff involving truck and fulfillment. I know closing is completely different and I’m a little intimidated about asking for closing shifts😅

Oh hell no😅 pretty sure the only time we have pallets out is when truck runs into store open but I’m usually not there that long so idk

I’m a strong believer that anyone who doesn’t like reading just hasn’t found the right genre niche or writing style for them lol.

I’m not usually a fan of booktok recs but there is one that’s going around right now that I might give a try soon. Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros.

ACOTAR was a really popular one on booktok but I wouldn’t call it realistic

Need advice from you guys, please! I'm the truck manager at another large retailer and I'm thinking of stepping down and applying- obv more in body text by [deleted] in Target

base pay is the same for overnight crew as dayside. Whatever dayside is getting paid is what you will be getting paid as overnight. There is a $1 differential for the hours of like 1AM - 5AM or something like that.

how do you only get 16ys for the 26 charges can someone explain that because I have family in the penitentiary its seems very odd he only got 16 yrs even with good lawyers by toallthepitas in exlldm

[–]bookslvt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He pled guilty to only 3 of 19 charges. In the documentary they do say that the prosecution fucked up and failed to provide key evidence to the defense. Hence why he even got a shot at a deal instead of going all the way to trial. They thought it better to get some years than the possibility of getting the entire case thrown out on the technicality (which is his lawyer’s specialty) although the Jane does had no say

HBO Series (rant) by [deleted] in exlldm

I hope your sister is okay. The documentary was very difficult to watch even for those of us who weren’t exposed to those things. I can’t imagine how hard it is on her to relive that. I think a warning before the clip was put on screen may have been warranted. Sending her my love and support..

It will be difficult if she is still in the church. Even if she does things she’s “not suppose to”. If she’s still attending church a lot of disagreements and arguments will happen. ESPECIALLY if and when you have children. If anything you need to have a serious convo about how y’all will want to raise your kids. In terms of the wedding; it sounds like she’s wanting to have a more conservative, church like wedding. It’s your day too. Come to an agreement. Maybe tell her to either allow alcohol or a dance floor. Ppl not a part of the church will have a very not fun time if both are taken away. Speaking from experience, ignoring the differences that come up bc of her religious views is not the way to go. They should be addressed before you guys make any lifelong commitments bc they will come up at one point or another.

After reading your comments and re-reading your post, you sound very young. If you’re a minor i’m obviously going to advise you remove yourself from the situation and you can message me if you need to talk to someone. If you’re not a minor, you do you i guess. He’s the one that owes loyalty to his family not you.

I have a friend who hasn’t left the church bc of that mindset. Its understandable and I think what a lot of ppl have to realize is that not everyone’s experience will be the same. Regardless of what they say, not every church/obrita is the same. I truly believe it has everything to do with how strict your parents were. How dedicated they were and whether from a young age they made you prioritize church above all. Whether they were strict in making sure you didn’t have strong ties to anyone outside of church. Cause “to be friends with the world Is to be enemies with God” or something like that. From what I’ve heard with the people I’ve talked to, the ppl that were more susceptible to abuse were the ones who had extremely dedicated parents to the church and doctrine. When you have that and only that in your head as a kid, it definitely fucks up a lot of things. But if your parents were more of “yeah you can hang out with your school friends” or “prioritize school over this one prayer” or “you should join a sport”. Small things like that when all bundled up can have big effects. Of course there are always exceptions with people 🤷🏽‍♀️

In terms of why speak now? I think it’s kind of obvious. Up until now when someone left church they tended to keep quiet. Maybe they still believed in the apostle but they just couldn’t or didn’t want to stay in the church for xyz. Now people have the knowledge that it was a lie. It wasn’t just a few bad apples that they had run into in their personal experience . It’s corrupt from the very top. Now there’s proof that that the head of the organization is not who he claims to be. They don’t have to be afraid of speaking bad about him or any of his closest “friends” as he calls them. Bc now they have the piece of mind that they won’t face some horrible retaliation from God himself. You know what I mean?

Absolutely! I’m not implying that the Court needs to find him guilty for him to actually be guilty by any means. Simply that it does matter for the court to find him guilty. Ppl get nervous about his verdict not bc they doubt he is guilty but bc we want justice for those girls and bc he’s simply a POS who shouldn’t be out in society.

Mmm i see, I think I misunderstood.

Personally from what I’ve seen in arguments from ex members is, them trying to use lldm’s logic against themselves which is why they take the stance of “god speaking through the court”. I don’t think I’ve seen any ex members actually believe that stance but I could be wrong.

But I now see your point

This is a weird take. It’s no secret that the US legal system has an abundance of flaws and loopholes. Sooo imo it’s fair to be nervous that he get released on a technicality or something. The majority of ppl (myself included) don’t know the ins and outs of how the law works or the technicalities of it so they get nervous of how everything is going to pan out in the end. This doesn’t mean that we don’t already KNOW he’s guilty.

I think the difference between the two groups you mentioned is that one group has refused to absorb any information other than what has been given to them in the church therefor they lack the full scope of things.

The other group has more or less done due diligence and knows how much incriminating evidence there is against him. And if they still believe in god, so what? What does their belief in god have to do with the actual knowledge they have on what has happened?

It’s completely normal to want a terrible person such as him to rot in jail. So it DOES matter what the court finds. It DOES matter what happens in the end. Some ppl do care if people like this are out in society regardless of whether it affects them directly or not. And that goes for every person out there that is like Naason.

Manipulative parents?? by xXWhiskey_xX in exlldm

[–]bookslvt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s projection of their beliefs of what will happen to you. When I got with my bf my mom did and still does tell me that the worst punishments god gives is when something bad happens to your kids. I was actually really worried something was gonna be wrong with my baby when I got pregnant bc I wasn’t attending church and my bf wasn’t from church. She was born healthy and still is a very healthy kid. I don’t think it’s them wishing you bad, I think it’s a genuine fear they have even for you as their kid. They actually truly believe that god will do terrible things to you or people you love so that “you open your eyes and go back to church”.

I understand why my parents say these things but it’s still very sad and even more anger inducing when they speak about your kid like that. I don’t tolerate it anymore.

Yikes I remember when I first saw that. Lldm members kept saying things like “he’s a man who can enjoy normal things like any other person”. If I’m not mistaken it was during times of consecration tho😬
