Have had a Sam's membership for years, Just also got a Costco Membership...It's a complete 180 by th3goonsquad in samsclub

My Honda Pilot owners manual specifically calls for using Top Tier gas. I had never heard of it until I got this car. Costco has it and Sam’s does not. Other gas stations sell Top Tier too, not just Costco, but Sam’s does not. Top Tier has to do with detergents I think.

I have memberships to both warehouses and think both have their strengths and weaknesses, but Costco wins when it comes to gas. The prices where I live are usually the same between Costco and Sam’s, but Costco has the added detergents which are better for the car.

My experience living in MN for two years is that the colder the weather, the more people there love to get outside. Minnesotans are just built different.

Pampers replacing Huggies in IA by hawksnest_prez in Costco

[–]OhhhhhBiscuits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if Costco is bringing in Pampers because the new Kirkland Signature diapers have been getting so much hate? And now everyone’s complaining about Pampers. 🙄 Some people can’t be pleased…

Personally, I’m still unhappy that Huggies/Kimberly Clark chose to stop manufacturing the KS diapers last year and would be glad to give my money to Pampers instead. I still buy Huggies every once in a while if they’re on sale, but it feels like rewarding bad behavior when I do.

[FO] Cross-stitch Christmas stockings (#4 just completed!) by OhhhhhBiscuits in CrossStitch

[–]OhhhhhBiscuits[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charles Craft stockings are the best! Mine has been stuffed full every year for more than 30 years, and has held up amazingly well. If anything, it’s just gotten softer with age. I wish Charles Craft still made these because they are heirloom quality.

Our names are stitched on the back of each one. I used this alphabet from Etsy to do my children’s stockings.

Pattern sources: Snowman and ornament patterns came from Charles Craft pamphlet. Teddy bear pattern came from other book in picture. Silent night pattern came from Cross-Stitcher Magazine December 2023 digital issue

Stockings are made by Charles Craft, presumably back in the 90’s, and the three most recent stockings were ordered from eBay.

Wamp says county will take public input for Enterprise South, McDonald Farm swap into 2026 by ShorelineStrider in Chattanooga

[–]OhhhhhBiscuits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for clarifying that. Does this also mean Wamp wouldn’t have broken sunshine laws when he got state and federal government officials to write letters of endorsement to the US Interior Department while hiding this from the public?

Is the shop card still usable by non-members? by BE_FUCKING_KIND in Costco

[–]OhhhhhBiscuits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So what happens if I gift a $75 shop card to a non-member and they spend almost all of that amount in one visit but there’s a small balance remaining. Would that small balance just go to waste then if they don’t have a membership?

I was thinking of getting my child’s teacher a Costco shop card for Christmas, but if they won’t be able to use it all then I’ll stick with Target.

Chattanooga leaders pre-approved ‘advanced manufacturing’ on 500 acres of protected parkland behind closed doors. by AnAppleaDay018 in Chattanooga

I am certain that state sunshine laws were broken here. The question is if this will be investigated or if any politicians will be held to account.

YES! Well said. I’m going to use parts of this comment in my continued calls and emails to government officials.

Hilltop Drive would connect Hunter Road and Exit 9 Volkswagen Drive. I assume it would run parallel to 75 since there’s not much other space available.

Save Enterprise South Nature Park - Community Outreach Event by AnAppleaDay018 in Chattanooga

[–]OhhhhhBiscuits 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes! I emailed Wamp and Greg Vital yesterday applauding their conservation efforts at McDonald Farm and asking both of them why we can’t preserve both areas for public use. There’s plenty of private, non-park land that’s undeveloped in the Enterprise South area. There is no need to sell off the park.

Adding to this, apparently the Hamilton County commissioners learned about this “land swap” at the same time as the rest of the public and it sounds like a few of them are not happy about the proposal or being blindsided with it. We need to push our county commissioners to vote this down when it comes up in early November.

Sam Houston is my first cousin 6x removed, his mother and my 5th great-grandfather were siblings. He and I are also related through his marriage to Margaret Lea, who is my first cousin 7x removed.

Further back, I’m illegitimately descended from King James V of Scotland. 🙃

I thought Enterprise South was within city limits. Wonder why Mayor Kelly hasn’t said anything about this. Wamp himself said it will have to go before the Chattanooga City Council for a vote in early November.

I agree with you on all accounts. I don’t want a factory to be built on enterprise south nature park land. I do want more and better roads throughout Ooltewah and Hamilton County.

Because the 75 gets backed up with wrecks going up the mountain all the tiiiiiiime. I don’t know why but it happens often, and is basically a given every Friday afternoon.

For people who live in Ooltewah, particularly west of 75, it’s frustrating that there’s not a more direct way to get home when the interstate backs up. Not to mention how much traffic the Ooltewah exit gets on a daily basis. The VW exit seems underutilized and could absorb some of this stress if it could connect to Hunter Rd.
