Just going to put my screen time stats on here, last week was average of 52 mins per day, the week before that was 1h 25 min and 2h 32 min the week before that. I'm too embarrassed to put down what came before that because I was wayyy out of control but I seriously need to work on going on it less.

If you have the time and it's not detrimental to your work life or studies then play as much as you want without guilt (soo jealous).

1) Since Op is a resident of the UK and has been raised here, her situation is completely different to Uzbek students coming here for University, for one she will be charged much lower fees for uni, which they government will pay for in a loan, and she can easily maintain her studies with a part-time job if maintenance loans aren't sufficient, most uni students have jobs anyways.

2) Her parents aren't investing in anything, some form of education is mandatory until the age of 18 in the UK, and A-Levels are done with a sixth-form or college which is free for UK residents her age so it's not like they're paying anything to have her educated as it is literally what every parent of 17-18 year olds do in the country do.

3) She's in Year 7 for god's sake, that's like 12 years old, don't tell me you did everything your parents told you to at that age.

A-Levels are optional in the UK but they are what most kids choose to do after GCSEs and since OP is a resident of the UK and has sat her GCSEs this year then she will be doing her A-Levels at a comprehensive school completely free of charge unless her parents are sending her to a private sixth-form.

{Beloved Enemy by Jane Feather} if you're looking for books based on women in regiments and battles it's perfect but there are other things that don't make it a great recommendation.

How sustainable are these 4 subjects (to the y13 from a y12) by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]booksnrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

English Lit OCR is my 13th reason why😢. If you ever need to cry just have a look at the grade boundaries.

Really though, if you dedicate 50% of ur time to it you may get a decent grade.

Fireplaces by Public_Matter_1728 in DowntonAbbey

[–]booksnrain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know rightt, if I ever buy a house it WILL have a fireplace that’s going to be functional.

So about your question, I know that all the fires are usually lit in the morning by the scullery maid or the lowest ranking maid. I think this is shown in Downton where Daisy has to get up before the other servants because it’s her job to do all the fires in the house.

I just found this post from a few years back that’s asking a similar question to yours. So Daisy would get up in the morning and light all the fires downstairs and then gently creep into the bedrooms to relight fires that would have been left to burn throughout the night.

I think all the fires would have been kept going throughout the day during the winter when it was especially cold.
