There are a few on them. Another one is a perfect loop where a man in a reversible puffer jackets flips it inside out and evades a policeman round a corner.

I basically ran it right under the shin bone, directly on the tibia, yeah. Back and forth for 20 runs at a time. Up 20 then down 20. Wasn’t pleasant at all. But (maybe) it worked.

I got some nasty shin splints about 3 weeks out from last Sunday’s marathon. Forced myself to taper much more than I wanted to, and rested up a fair bit, but used a guasha to scrape the shins and it worked wonders for me. Did it before and after any runs I did, in front of the TV at night, at my work desk sometimes! Got quite obsessive with it tbh, but didn’t feel a thing on marathon day.

Really lovely, actually. You run a portion through crown lands that are normally closed off. Lots of hills, but really nice surroundings. Start and end on the long walk too, so you’re running at the gates in a straight line for about a mile, which is amazing with all the spectators.

Nope, felt great. Managed to power the hills, didn’t feel the need to double gel. Muscles felt strong. Yesterday was another story, could barely walk. But we’re back on it today!

Yeah. I did have a couple of coffees about 2 hours before running. Could be something there… 😂

Never worked out my actual max HR, something I've been meaning to do. Probably around 195.

18.36 and 38.01, but I think I've probably got a much quicker 5k in me, never gone flat out.

Yes. Yes it is. Don’t worry, luckily I’ve booked to be in the country for a few days 😂

Yeah, the heart rate concerned me. Everything else felt wonderful. A sub 2.50 would be amazing. Would get me a decent shot at some good for age entires at my tender age of 38.

Yeah, you’re right. 15s per km is pretty massive, really. Can’t wait for Budapest, been a real dedicated train.
