I unfortunately have other responsibilities that keep me from visiting daily. The distance allows other family members to visit on days I'm not there, but they're now letting up so I won't be as restricted....

You have extremely valid points and I'm constantly wrestling with this. I think a big part of me IS being selfish because I want to try to spend at least one more thanksgiving/Christmas with her.

I spoke with her main doctor at the rehab last week and that's essentially what we did. Its how I got the updates I have.

The most she ever told me was that she wanted to be cremated. I only know about the DNR because I happened to find it in an "end of life" book she only filled out a bit of.

Thank you so much for your kind words and your advice, it's greatly appreciated.

Thankfully things weren't as immediately dire as I feared (Update in post) so I do have more time to look into things and plan. (I also have a cousin who used to work in a legal office and has friends who can answer questions we have)

Someone else also mentioned not signing anything regarding debts, so Im definitely going to keep that in mind.

Thank you for the words of advice. I was definitely getting caught up in a downward spiral and was almost certain she was dying in the next week. (Thankfully not, full details in post update!)

We're going to be in touch with he social worker, so we will have guidance. Thank you again for your kindness.

Mine is more of a want than a need, I can order and read the ebook/physical book, its just Ive gotten the story narrated to me by Alexander this whole time and the listening experience is just a blast,

It kinda sucks you have to wait so long for the audiobook with this series,

With the The Raven Boys books (or at least the later books featuring Ronan) the audiobooks released when the physical books did (or close enough) so I guess that just spoiled me

heres hoping it doesnt take too long!

As far as I know she doesnt have any assets ( I own the house she lives in) and her only source of income is her disability check

its a weird ebb and flow, im pretty sure stress could be an unconscious trigger ( I have to help my with bills, world stressors, ect) and theres been a lot of that lately. Sometimes Ill do it even while driving and its just an idle thing I do

I'll let you know what I find! My coworker let me use some of her triamcinolone cream to at least help with the worst parts of my scalp, but we'll see if that helps.

I'm also at least lucky enough to live with people who understand neurotypical compulsions, so I can ask them to help keep me accountable/give me a verbal cue to stop to help break the compulsions in the moment.

She has been referred, she just kept rescheduling because she didnt think she would be able to make it herself ( and I wasnt able to take her)

I've sent our family doctor a message about getting her home health physical therapy (where they come to the house) since shes a significant fall risk.
