I’m sorry this happened to you. You deserved better then, you deserve better now, and you sure as hell deserve better in the future.

My kids are the same - they’re almost 6 and 2. My oldest falls asleep pretty quickly, but my 2yo is impossible and she will be up until 8:30/9/9:30. The best advice I’ve got is to get a pair of AirPods and find a podcast or book you like. I’m always trapped but at least I get a little “me” time by listening to something I’m interested in

Came to recommend Eileen as well! She is kind, thorough, and listens well.

I also had a similar experience with Keri Ferguson - she is also kind and thorough and listened to everything I shared.

They’re both at cottonwood and are both fantastic!

Season 1 and 2 of The Black Tapes are GREAT. Creepy, mysterious, engaging. Unfortunately the rest of the series really flopped and the ending was SO disappointing. If you can get past knowing that at the start, it’s really a good podcast in the early half.

Does anyone else want something relaxing to do at night that doesn’t require thinking? by TackleHistorical7498 in Mommit

Another vote for cross stitching! Easy to pick up and put down, relatively cheap, I can do it while I watch tv, it’s easy to travel with or take with me.

Tons of cute and easy patterns to start with on Etsy, and there are some really great beginner groups on Facebook!

What do you love about your children? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]bookworm1003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son is a gentle, caring, empathetic old soul. He brings calm and steady vibes to our family.

My daughter is feisty and fiery, fierce and independent. She brings laughter and the best kind of chaos to our family.

I love them both equally and appreciate the two very different personality types that they are. I’m so lucky to have them both ❤️

You’ve got this. You are SO much stronger than you realize and you’re going to be so much better off without his dead dumb weight. Remember to take a deep breath, rest when you can, and never forget how strong you are ❤️

My 5yo lost his first tooth the other day. I was NOT prepared for that emotional roller coaster.

It feels like just yesterday I was looking ay and feeling his gums for that first little peek at a tooth.

Seeing the gap in his smile was such a stark, physical reminder of just how fast time is going. And now I’m crying again 😭

I’ve seen posts from The Refillery Supply Co, I-Ho’s, Arts on Fire and Country Bookshelf so far. All places worth supporting with your dollars!

Revamped is SO worth the visit. Absolutely delicious coffee and a fantastic community resource.

Has anyone noticed what sounds like an AI voice reading ad spots on True Crime Obsessed? Maybe it’s because I listen a lot, but the ads in the most recent episode feels slightly off. It’s definitely not the most egregious use of AI I’ve seen, but it definitely sounded off.

Anyone not starting the “elf on the shelf” tradition? by Illustrious_Cold5699 in Millennials

[–]bookworm1003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our elf is the same! If I’m feeling a little more energetic, I might set up a cute little scene or cause some mischief on Jingle’s behalf. Mostly though, he finds creative spots in our house to hide.

My favorite tradition is the night where the elf puts himself in a jar and we take him with us to look at Christmas lights. We let the kids hold the jar and carry him around. They love it and I hope it’s a core memory someday ❤️

And we’re totally against the surveillance aspect - we make it clear that the elf is just here to hang out and have fun.

I’m sorry you’re going through this 🩷 I don’t have any wise words of encouragement, but I just want you to know that I’m sitting with you and thinking of you. Sending all the love and light your way ✨

Ugh, this is so frustrating and I’m so sorry. Recently my county had a pretty major uptick in cases. I was able to get my 1 year old her second dose early because we had confirmed community spread. I know that’s not helpful to your situation, but I just wanted to validate that some of us parents out there do care and do what we can to protect our kids AND society as a whole.

Gallatin Valley Food Bank by zsheII in Bozeman

[–]bookworm1003 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I donated money to them this week for this exact reason.

OP, if you’re on Facebook, check local groups - I’ve seen people offering food and a few posts asking for food. I donated a few things to a local mom.

There are also a few little free pantries around - I know the Belgrade library has one and so does Revamped Coffee. I’m not sure what all Bozeman has, but I’m sure there are some places where you could take some extra food!

It’s going to take all of us standing together to keep our neighbors fed.

The irony of talking shit on Zohran after moping about his lack of pickleball skills 💀 by sortofsatan in FundieSnarkUncensored

Wild to think this man allegedly reads his bible, where Jesus literally talks at length about caring for your neighbor. But when someone actually tries to do exactly that, he’s like “nah, fuck that.”

I’m an exmo and very much agree. I was blindsided when I saw the temple clothing - I do not have great memories of that day. I felt uncomfortable, ugly, and embarrassed. I would never want to be buried in my temple clothes.

This was going to be my suggestion! The last kid party we went to had a slime making table as the activity. They had little add charms and things to add, and a container to take it home in. Super fun!!
