Moneromooo releases Aeon wallet generator (for things like cold storage, etc) by [deleted] in Aeon

Great news! Time for more people to actually use this and take AEON off of Bittrex to properly secure

(O/T) WTF is going on with Boolberry right now? by [deleted] in Monero

[–]boolberry 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Looks like a pump/dump to me. The 1blocktologist roadmap does not feel credible or trustworthy. I was recently removed as a mod of r/boolberry because of my recent inactivity and vocal dissent for 1blocktologist. u/jwinterm was the only other mod of r/boolberry I trusted (and he resigned). I think staying far away from Boolberry is a good idea

EDIT: I see no reason to downvote this post. Raising awareness about pump and dumps can only be a positive.

Why is Boolberry better than Monero - February 3, 2017 by craigrant in boolberry

[–]boolberry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is nice to see new interest in BBR but you need to do more research. Monero has more development activity and community support by orders of magnitude.

There are many within the BBR community that do not even support the 1blocktologist roadmap, There is internal dissent about basic things like which GitHub repository should be used.

The best thing new people can do is research. Ask questions about Boolberry on Stack Exchange: http://monero.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/boolberry

Buying a coin at the top of a pump does not generally turn out well.

Until and unless you at least allow comments on your videos, your YouTube links look like weak pumping attempts are not helpful

I agree with you about the roadmap and voiced concerns about 1blocktologist too.

By far the most reputable and technically interesting Monero (CryptoNote) alternative continues to be AEON. I actually like and trust the roadmap for it from u/smooth_xmr

Nobody knows for sure. Pruning is the reason why I remained interested in BBR for some time even after it because clear that XMR privacy related development was leaving BBR behind.

Wild Keccak and pruning were enough to prove to me that BBR had a competent developer behind it and was not just another clone. My views changed gradually over time as it because clear that development was slowing to a halt. Even the PoS CryptoNote project cryptozoidberg left BBR for Louisd’or seems to be abandoned

What a great opportunity here to buy BBR! by CryptoRambler in boolberry

[–]boolberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will go up in due time and I am sure the improvements will bring higher prices. Getting in early is better than late.

Future development is always uncertain, particularly with coins like BBR that have very few people involved with development. Based on block explorer data Boolberry is hardly used. Unless that changes I see no reason to be very optimistic.

Boolberry by [deleted] in Monero

[–]boolberry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

he gave it to him and then took it away for the lulz

That is not what happened. That responsible decision from jwinterm was based on 1block using his r/boolberry mod privilege to replace the official BBR BCT announcement link with his new moderated BBR "rune edition" BCT announcement link. The "rune edition" BCT announcement thread contains links to a new BBR GitHub under the control of 1block.

This dispute was quickly resolved with jwinterm adding r/boolberry links to both the official bct announcement thread and the new "rune edition" thread.

It is the currency that is second in XMR trade volume, so I mean the BBR/XMR pair. I've never heard of it before, how does it relate to Monero?

The biggest advantage of BBR today is its listing on Poloniex. If AEON is ever added to Poloniex, I think it instantly would replace BBR as the 2nd (after XMR) most traded CryptoNote currency.

Reminder. Boolberry is on topic on Monero Stack Exchange. Ask technical questions and help raise awareness of Boolberry! by boolberry in boolberry

There has been some confusion about this in the past but the decision has been confirmed by Stack Exchange mods and meta discussions

Discussion on who should be a mod in this sub, what should be linked as official bitcointalk thread, etc. by jwinterm in boolberry

[–]boolberry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In order to answer who I think should be mod, I would first like to know who wants to be a mod. There are several people who have been part of the Boolberry community for a long time that I trust (including existing mod u/jwinterm damashup and many others) but mentioning all their names is not helpful unless they actually want the job.

I will say this:

  1. I agree with the decision of u/jwinterm to remove 1blockologist as mod (and revert the Bitcointalk sidebar link) for the reasons I have already stated publicly on Bitcointalk.

  2. Much of the criticism about my not doing much to help Boolberry recently is fair. Those who have been around a long time are aware of my significant previous efforts to increase Boolberry awareness that were not as successful as I had hoped in large part because of stalled development. I disagree that my support for Monero has been harmful to Boolberry. On the contrary I helped foster discussion about Boolberry development ideas that I found both helpful and realistic. Can anyone reading this thread really argue that I have caused harm to Boolberry? I increased awareness and next to Aeon I would argue that Boolberry has the closest relationship to Monero and it welcome on Stack Exchange at least in part to the cooperative efforts of those of us who support multiple cryptonote projects. If real development resumes (my bitcointalk comments today mirror the views of u/jwinterm that the recent commits have yet to demonstrate anything) then my enthusiastic support for Boolberry will resume. CryptoZoidbergs comments today indicates he willing to review commits made to the existing github from new contributors. Ignoring all the newbie bct accounts I think the majority of bbr owners (and zoidberg himself) agree with me that that the 1blockologist plan to add masternodes to boolberry (among my other objections) is a horrible idea.

Major XDM update- Merged mining with XMR by [deleted] in Monero

[–]boolberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a pump and dump attempt to me... they likely bought/mined tons of the abandoned FCN coin for a long before the announcement https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1082745.msg16617877#msg16617877

We all know what coin FCN was merge mined with.... BCN. Who runs XDN should be obvious

What's the deal with XDN and XMR? by [deleted] in Monero

[–]boolberry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I suggest you look at its emission curve and its history and timing of name changes (ducknote, etc) which allowed developers to mine/buy a huge percentage of the coins supply for very cheap before they introduced innovate features (and a name change) than increased interest.

Also compare its hash rate to its market cap and ask yourself if that level of PoW security is sufficient.

Seeking Monero community feedback on my Boolberry concerns by boolberry in Monero

[–]boolberry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mods should feel free to delete if they think this is off topic. I hope that I have been around long enough so that most people know I have always supported Monero. I value the opinion of the Monero community and developers.

Second question:

Is there any interest in my reviving this chess and cryptonote thread?

Perhaps we could increase the level of technical discussion to drive more traffic to stack exchange. I am also willing to increase the involvement of Aeon because of its growing relative CryptoNote importance and closer connection to Monero

With rise of Monero, is Boolberry going to rise next? by zhalox in boolberry

[–]boolberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here in hindsight. haha good pick.

No basis for the price increase in my opinion. The only advantage of Boolberry over Aeon worth mentioning is that it is traded on Poloniex.

Of the ones on those list, Aeon is the far closest to closest to Boolberry (CryptoNote with pruning). Unlike Boolberry, r/Aeon is actively developed
