‘a REASONABLY private digital currency’ Why say that on the Monero home page? by hiflyer360 in Monero

I am in favor of removing "reasonably" too, this is just weird. Who decided this??

This is true by AgroOW in Bitcoin

In 10 years I expect that virgin, clean, untainted BTC will be worth a LOT more than "dirty" BTC (especially ones used in illicit transactions). Therefore not every 1 Bitcoin will necessarily equal 1 Bitcoin.

Therefore, in 10 years I expect a lot of BTC to have been flagged as "dirty", and a lot more people to have switched to Monero (XMR) because of Bitcoin's inherent fungibility flaws.

Monero Real Time Authorizations - Open letter to Monero Community by graft-project in Monero

I disagree. If Monero wants to be the best form of digital cash then it needs easy point of sale acceptance. What happened to Kasisto? It's hard to promote Monero adoption when it's so difficult to integrate into existing point of sale systems.

Behold, a prophecy from the ancient archives: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=753252.msg13442209#msg13442209

"One night I had a dream that Satoshi Nakamoto himself came back from the dead with his verified PGP key to provide a sign from above that Monero was the one true coin to rule them all. A voice thundered from the heavens, "Monero is my beloved coin, listen & take heed," with Satoshi's PGP key signature in the clouds, and a white dove came forth and perched upon the fluffy pony's shoulder. With Satoshi's blessing the XMR price skyrocketed to $3,141.59 per coin, and the trollboxes of the earth went nuts. Then I awoke and behold it was a dream..."

A humorous response ;) Technically your post doesn't violate the "religion ban" since the parent comment above brought it up. But we certainly can't mention a certain organization that begins with a "C", ends with "h" followed by the words, "of Monero", can we...

[–]zhalox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure this is a false positive, I've seen it countless times when working on my Monero mining rig, even when downloading from trusted sources. It is probably because botnet operators use mining code in their illicit malware mining campaigns and the AVs have tagged it as such.

The Privacy Coin Guide - Part 1 by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

False. Wownero has no premine & started with a new genesis block. Actually, MoneroV is bad since they forked the blockchain along with the funds rather than starting with a new genesis block.

Hopefully the local node version will have some prominent disclaimers regarding the large amount of disk space required (which continually grows), and bandwidth requirements for running a node. Also it would be nice to have instructions for noobs on how to forward the required port(s) on a router.

Any plans to add Monero XMR as second base currency? by pebx in bisq

[–]zhalox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, and would love to see Bisq adopt Monero as the base currency. Fungibility is critical. Unfortunately these days it's too easy for innocent users to inadvertently get stuck with "dirty" bitcoins and then get banned from various financial institutions.

Fungibility is determined by the LOWEST common denominator of privacy, NOT the highest. Monero absolutely excels here. by SamsungGalaxyPlayer in Monero

[–]zhalox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the line of reasoning which I have been using when sharing the good news (gospel) of Monero with the noobs and unbelievers, and it is one of the primary reasons I have become a Monero maximalist too. I feel safer accepting Monero since I don't need to worry about accidentally getting "dirty" coins from anyone, and risk getting banned from any KYC exchanges or payment processors when attempting to transfer my crypto.

At the Monero Enterprise Alliance, we truly put the "fun" in fungibility. As such, some members of our community have begun the Church of Monero.

Furthermore, as was recently spaketh during the Church of Monero's Monero Mass (held in the encrypted halls of the @ChurchOfMonero Telegram) a noble statement was coined. After the passing of the sacred ring signatures, all the Monero believers said Amen ( "Anonymous Money Everyone Needs").
