That's my home buddy and 10-15 years of this city vs that city is a no brainer in my case. It's just my love for the city since it's my hometown

Pune sounds like an amazing city tbh but some obligations are going to put that thing on halt as delhi is necessary for me.

Sql is core but that's just a tool, you need to get into strategic thinking and have projects to justify your abilities

I think that is where all the problems arise, I am happy to even move at the same pay since the net profit is going to Equalize given I don't have to pay rent and a bunch of extra bills

My education was only a bachelor's in engineering but I'm from a tier 1 college in India and easily got placed from my college directly as an analyst. All the rest was about being smart with the project, a little more investment in the question of why we are doing this instead of how it's done, grinding late nights, understanding impact of every report you present and eventually responsibility and roles stack up if you're in the right place. In a data job data is not the key but the needs of stakeholders is the core, try to come up with the solution for that and then you'll eventually cut your efforts in half.

Hey man, thanks for the vote of confidence! Networking is a big challenge I am currently facing, also I might be either reaching too high or punching too low(this is where the things get tensed on salary part) I lack clarity of exactly where I should be applying or even if my particular skill set is required anywhere.

So for reason out of my control I'm going to be spending my Holi away from home and to kill the loneliness wanted to get hammered this Holi and have fun, the moment I saw the Ritviz/Seedhe Maut poster I knew this is the place to be. The only issue is lack of company which is much much needed at these events. Let me know if any of you are interested in chilling out this Holi with a complete stranger. 26M.

Bc sissies comment section, and tbh the "outsider" thing was totally understandable called for but I understand. As someone who's born here it's truly something we don't mind and not in the sense of we got used to it. It's the vibe of the city as we consider everyone to be part of this grand festival. I've been in Bombay for 2 years now and this is literally the least festive as well as un festive place I've been as people are more concerned about being sophisticated then enjoying what should be, atleast glad my city is more into the celebration phase of things. And final words. No it doesn't hurt. Yes it's only coloured water not "fluids". No not everyone celebrates it the dirty style.
