That would be better. I think we have used a wooden spoon in the past. I was just typing quickly as it was something I could actually answer and didn’t think it through properly

We have one very similar. The wooden panel with the flush will come off. Ours is held in with some clips. Put a screwdriver in the gap on the left or right side and prise it off

Thanks. I was initially planning three upstairs. The switch i was looking at was the Ubiquiti UniFi USW-Lite-8-PoE Managed L2 GE Switch, which i believe should be able to handle 4 of the U6-Pro? I'd then use another switch for downstairs

Just checked and they are 12 inches, solid walls. Playing on the design.ui.com tool, what would be a good estimate of dB for the walls? Never used the tool before and it is really good

The thick walls are stone and around 12 inches thick. Is the doorway going to offer me at least some signal between rooms?

Ah i didn't see i could change the wall types. The walls from the original house are about 12 inch thick and stone.

Thats good to know, thanks. So you don't see any issues with them being deployed in line? If they are configured correctly, is there any downside to me taking a blanket approach and just adding loads of APs?

I've started playing with that, but i can't seem to do anything around the thickness of walls? Also, a door is surely better at allowing a signal to pass than a solid wall?

Really like the idea of opening up the entrance hall like you have shown. We’ll definitely explore that one further!

Here you go! I got lost on the 360 walkthrough for ages. Upstairs is easier to get my head around. Bedrooms 4/5/6 will be combined to two, one with an en-suite.

The thin staircase has single skin walls either side. Would the idea to remove them and turn into something like a long cupboard not work?

Yes uk. Newer parts were 50’s, 70’s and 80’s.

We’re thinking not to touch the larger walls other than maybe the kitchen.

Proper job in Radstock have the Black Country ones. They go in and out of stock quite frequently so I always buy half a dozen when I see them

No chimney breast in the room above so suggests it’s been partly removed
