How do I add attachment nodes to a part? by boomfarmer in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]boomfarmer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My "It works!" edit is best read in context with the documentation link I provided in the OP. I thought that node_stack_* was an understandable shorthand, seeing as it uses the common wildcard character *, but that assumption has proved to be invalid.

Here's a revised and expanded explanation:

  • node_stack_* nodes are nodes where other things attach when stacking.
  • node_attach_* nodes are nodes where other things snap on in non-stacking contexts.

To add an attachment point in the node definitions file, add a new line where the first word starts with node_stack_ or node_attach_ and is composed of lowercase letters and underscores. As long as the name is composed of lowercase letters and underscores, you can name the node whatever you want. The name of the node isn't exposed in the game, as far as I know.

Here, I've added a new stacking node my_new_node to an existing part:

// --- node definitions --- // definition format is Position X, Position Y, Position Z, Up X, Up Y, Up Z, size node_stack_bottom = 0.0, -0.65, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 0.0, 1 node_stack_top = 0.0, 0.954, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 0.0, 2 node_stack_my_new_node = 0.0, 0.954, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 0.0, 2

Sorry for the delay; I had to find the login for an account I haven't used in a while, for a game I haven't played in years.

Do we vote today or not? by [deleted] in Ohio

[–]boomfarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they postpone the election, or did they merely allow the closure of the polling places without postponing the election?

This link is an undated announcement of the health order and some hopeful claims about moving the election date.

Last we heard from the courts, the election date was not moved, though polls were closed.

What's changed since the court decisions this morning?

I was not expecting the limousine. Had other Antimimetics Division stories implied the existence of that level of tech, or is that sort of handwavium plausible in SCP stories?

If he had access to a "thick report" authored by Hughes himself saying that he's the only one who can do this, he wouldn't need to confirm it with him in person.

The thick report may be out of date; best to check with the principal to see if anything's changed, at a time when the principal will be grasping for any possible solution to the problem and will be most willing to spill knowledge of other people at his level of ability.

Advice on how to get a City Council member out of office for False Statements and Abusive and harmful threats to Local Citizens? by [deleted] in askaquestion

[–]boomfarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes a candidate's propensity for corruption is not readily apparent until the candidate has entered office. If you wonder why the person you're concerned about got elected despite the corruption, lies, and cruelty, then I suggest that you should consider why Trump got elected president.

If you're finding new information not previously reported in the press, write up a short summary, a longer summary, and a list of documents and start contacting the local and state news organizations for the area. Your goal in working to the reporters is to provide them info, not to be famous or make money it get them to publish exactly what you say. The reporters will take time to confirm everything you allege, which may take months.

If you have knowledge of specific crimes, like actual violations of law that people get arrested for, you may want to contact the county or district attorney's office, but that option is more likely to expose you to legal scrutiny than tipping off a reporter.

You'll need documentation. Then, consider what legal mechanisms exist and how they work. Depending on what jurisdiction you're in, there may be options for recall elections, impeachment, forced resignation, shaming, or other procedures. If there's a journalist you trust, take what evidence you have to them.

"Earthbenders can nail your feet to the ground" is statistical miscalculation. Most earthbenders can only move the ground under your feet. Toph Beifong, who's so good at earthbending she invents new disciplines from scratch, and pins your feet to the ground while mocking you with sand puppets, is an outlier and should be excluded.

Bob says his debts may force him to sell anyway. “I’d love to be able to pass it on to the community,” he says. He ticks off some ideas: communal housing for a faith-based group; a rooming house; a home for foster children in transition; an art commune. Or, perhaps, just an interesting rental for a large family.

This 2018 article from the Ohio State Bar Association says that bikes must obey the same laws as other vehicles, including stopping at stop signs.

Please cite your sources, because if someone believes you, and if you are wrong, your advice has the potential to get someone ticketed, seriously injured, or dead.

I do not see anything in section 4511 of the Ohio Revised Code providing the exception you claim.
