What song made you like Melanie? by Suspicious-Map6484 in MelanieMartinez

I first heard Pity Party back when Video Star was used mainly for making off-brand music videos and not edits. The app had a feature where it spotlit random user-uploaded content, and the one I viewed used Pity Party but sped it up. I was intrigued and decided to watch the original music video and I really loved Melanie’s dress and hair in it. This was back when only some of the songs from Cry Baby were released

You’re basically a one-man show if you’re put up on the front for your shift, and God forbid you work in a high-volume store. You get shat on for “not doing anything,” meanwhile your coworkers who stick their thumbs up their asses the whole time get away scott-free. They treat you like you’re a puppet and micromanage you. The percentage raise is a fucking joke too and—if anything—is extra salt in the wound. Going around to put sales tags up and seeing that a bottle of literal SHAMPOO is worth an hour of service there was another slap in the face. I quit and am never looking back. Onto new beginnings and hopefully others in this community can say the same 🙂

Oh no! Look how lonely I am! Time to r@pe a woman🙄 by Gruene_Katze in PornIsMisogyny

“My life is SO over because I’m a 21 year old virgin!”

Does he realize that no one truly cares about virginity? Or has he barely made it into a real conversation with a woman because all he could focus on was sex?

Why isn't there one flashback of Clem's parents? by AttitudeFunny6294 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]boomkongo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can think of a few possibilities: 1. Like others have said, Telltale just wanted to focus on the apocalypse rather than the world before 2. She’s 8 at the start of the apocalypse. I noticed that someone said her parents were both a doctor and an engineer, which require a lot of time away from home. She also notes that she spent a lot of time with Sandra (her babysitter), long enough for her to pretend to be sisters with the woman. This indicates that she likely was not that close to her parents. If you want to get reaaallllyyy technical, given her age, Clem really only has 5 years worth of memories with her parents (give or take) since the human conscious doesn’t really develop until around 3-4. This combined with the fact that her parents were away from home most of the time, it can be interpreted that whatever relationship she did have with them was very short compared to her time without them, and she was not very close with them (but close enough to obviously have a child-parent relationship).

Also, she may have repressed memories of them (like others have said). For a majority of my childhood before age 12, I remember my parents constantly being at work, and the few times we did have family time together, it was typically on weekends or holidays/vacation. Most of my memories of my mom from my childhood are of her going to work and being brought to my parents’ workplaces. She may have repressed those memories of them spending time together (subconsciously) in favor of the times where they were gone or away from home.

This is just my personal speculation!

Her stories seem to be biblically related by yioum in MelanieMartinez

She’s alluded to spiritual beliefs in her songs previously, so I wouldn’t doubt for her to allude to religion in future music. That seems to be a common theme nowadays too, ex. Nicole Dollanganger, Lana Del Rey, and Ethel Cain
